Da fuq? I used the weapon as described and you think it's wrong? These arent small changes they are game changing changes.
Let's get this straight:
Pulse rifles: not the best, not the worst, maybe just the okayest class in the game gets messed with. For who? For what? Because?? Because???
Ice breaker: used by myself and most others in nightfalls. You find a hiding spot, snipe with it and use your primary while it reloads. Why do we do this? Because Ammo runs are so dangerous in a nightfall. Why extend the reload? We are still going to do what I described.
Black hammer: it made strikes shorter because I didn't run out of sniper ammo. Back to ice breaker in these situations. Again, I used it as described and for that I am being punished.
Thorn: you screwed up the crucible when you over nerfed auto rifles and fusion rifles. You gave rise to hand cannon dominance and shotgun chargers. And again my favorite pve primary exotic gets toyed with. All you needed to do was buff auto rifles so that the ttk in cqb was low enough to compete.
Gally: it's a launcher that focuses on your bullet sponge end bosses. So those that had it used it for that. Worried about the lfg aspect? You know what the solution was? Have an alternative. This one is on you. Lazy programming is what led to the nerf of everyone's favorite rocket launcher. You should have either created an solid alternative or buffed one of the other exotics.
Jerks. Just wanted that off my chest.
Edit: for all you folks focusing on thorn and saying git gud, I said It's my favorite pve. It's far better than people give it credit for. Use it during a small arms burn. You're welcome.
During pvp I use a range of weapons depending on the map and my opponent.
For example: I'm the jerk that uses a scout rifle and protects c on shores of time. And I'll be better at it now that the last round perk is being nerfed.

2 RespostasBoss killers are needed for a reason. I have completed well over 450 strikes across my three characters. Tomorrow I'll run nightfall on all three and kill Sepiks Prime for the umpteen bazillionth time (hoping for Etheric light to drop). You know what will NOT make that more fun??? Making it take longer to kill him and the Devil Walker because the boss killers have been nerfed. I DO NOT need it to take longer to kill these bosses that I've already killed more times than I can count. That WILL NOT make my gameplay experience more enjoyable. Destiny does not need weapon nerfs that make bullet sponges MORE time consuming to kill (not more difficult, more time consuming). I'm still going to camp out of range of the Devil Walker and kill it slowly with my icebreaker. See? Still super easy, just more time consuming. Why? Because I have run the strike sooooo many times that there is ZERO adventure to it anymore ... ABSOLUTELY ZERO!!!!! Nerfing the boss killers will not fix that. What Destiny needs in order to be a truly great game that keeps hordes of people constantly playing is: 1. Engaging and coherent in game story 2. More imaginative level design Nerfing our boss killers (Gjallahorn, Icebreaker, Black Hammer) is NOT the answer here. Engaging and imaginative story driven content is the answer. Finally, want to eliminate gating items on LFG sites? Do you really want to????? OPTIONAL MATCHMAKING!!!!!

I can't wait to use thorn post "nerf" it'll just melt shields and possibly even bosses.

In a sense OP is right, players are getting short end of stick as we're not playing the game the way bungie wants us to.....

1 ResponderAll I want is for BUNGIE to realize that they are nerfing the wrong things and they need to buff auto rifles, nerf hand cannons that is pretty much all and it would be nice to make it so that exotic drops are not as randomly generated because I got mida multi tool from a strike that I legit joined as it said mission ending 25 seconds, I got the mida multi tool with 0 kills while the other people got not even a legendary.

2 RespostasThis sucks, icebreaker is one of my favorite guns, Great job bungie thanks for making the game a whole lot crappier

2 RespostasEditado por Misfyre: 8/4/2015 6:50:43 PMThorn is getting a buff in PvE, just saying. And i can't wait for the balance patch. The meta has become stale, and if you're not using an exotic hand cannon in PvP, you're gonna die. And I'm also the jerk who sits in the back with Jewel/Mida and Eye of Sol/Icebreaker. It's a fun way to play.

Bungie is full of retards who don't understand their own game.

1 ResponderI'm just pissed they nerf the fusion rifles again, pocket infinity is already hard enough to get a kill with now cause it kicks like a god damned cow

3 RespostasI don't understand the black hammer nerf. It's a great sniper for enemies with a lot of health, and boss fights. The white nail perk is designed perfectly for these types of enemies, where you want to consistently land precision hits and keep your ammo. It rewards you for your aim. It does a lot of damage, but not exactly the best option for regular adds. This is because of the low reserve ammo, and it's not very likely to land 3 precision hits against adds. Basically, the black hammer is perfectly balanced as it currently stands. Why not just use a sniper with a speed reload perk that can carry more ammo after the nerf? Who knows, maybe it won't be as bad as I think it will.

7 RespostasEditado por Madman: 7/21/2015 6:38:52 PMOP respect mode: on [off] But I'm on board with most of the logic here. IMO, many of the announced changes for 2.0 are band-aids on symptoms, and Destiny, Bungie, and the playership would be better served by addressing the causes. We slam bosses with Black Hammer because we don't have to choose between boss killers. We can have sniper rifles AND rocket launchers. This also affects scout rifle usage. Beyond that, boss fights typically are only about DPS, and nothing in this game, not even Gjallarhorn, surpasses the ability of just about any sniper rifle to deal massive amounts of damage in precision shots. Simply speaking, sniper rifles should be in the heavy slot. It was always a weird prospect that they would be special weapons. They deliver the highest damage potential in the game. We cheese with Icebreaker because Destiny's approach to raising difficulty is subtractive instead of additive. Bungie takes away our resources that make the game intuitive or convenient instead of actually adding obstacles. Encounters become difficult because they are confusing or because the penalty for a single mistake (or game glitch) is so severe. Of course, we're going to cheese. As long as it's possible, it's always going to be more reliable than such subtractive approaches to difficulty, and we'll cheese it even if it takes a little longer. We demand teammates have Gjallarhorn because this is what RPG players do, and when you don't provide a convenient way for players to match up, they get elitist. Further, there just aren't desirable alternatives to Gjallarhorn, and it has less to do with Gjallarhorn's effectiveness and more to do with the relatively low desirability of other exotic weapons or heavy weapons. Frankly, we've found items in Bungie's game that enable us to circumnavigate the annoying parts of the game, and we're upset now because it means we'll either have to once again trudge through those annoying parts or we'll have to wait in relative safety as our Icebreaker or ammo synth cakes recharge, neither prospect we're exactly excited about, and IMO, that should deliver a very powerful message: Bungie, your players are upset because, in a sense, you're forcing them to play your game.

Nice, I like the way you put it. Getting the guns nerfed for using them as intended. I could not agree more.

4 RespostasAgreed. But they don't care about us and lfg and all that. Its about their next expansion. Didn't you notice HoW guns were mediocre at best? Did you really like any of them? And the fact that you can now reforge any weapon to mimic other weapons takes out that special weapon feel from the game. Party crasher and natador can be re rolled with same exact perks and they have same stats aswell. So basically they're the same gun. Do you see the problem here? A her mercy can be rolled to have same perks as loner.rebel handcannon, so why do i need two of these again? Also where's that special weapon that we deserve after grinding that bore fest prison of elders? Now look back at vanilla weapons. VoG weapons are literally The best weapons in game right now. Also to its credit crotas end weapons kick ass as well, especially the blackhammer. Now look at what HoW gave us: dregs promise exotic? Are you kidding me #bungie? Queen breakers bow? Those who say its good in pvp are those kiss-ass youtubers, praedyths revenge can literally -blam!- anyone with a Qbb lol. Basically they wanna continue the same trend with the upcoming expansions. We chase those new guns, grind for days to get em, but in the end they're gonna turn out just like her mercy or her benevolence lol. And that's why they want to nerf these amazing year one weapons, so we'll be left with mediocre weapons at beat.

4 RespostasThe Gally Nerf is dumb... Why didn't they just give Dragons Breath some tracking?
