Okay, so I keep seeing all of these posts about "No falloff damage!"
Then when someone tries to correct them by saying the no falloff only applies to the ricochets, they reply with something like "Idiot, do you know what a projectile is?"
The answer is, yes. We all know what a projectile is, Bungie worded this perk poorly, because they didn't account for the people that would actually believe an auto rifle would have absolutely no falloff damage. They should have clarified ricochets, but do they really have to? I mean use your little brains and think about it for 2 seconds, no drop off would essentially be equivalent to a sniper rifle with maxed range. Do you really think they would allow you to snipe across a map with an auto rifle?
SHORT VERSION: No drop off damage for Hardlight only applies to ricochets and not to the bullets themnselves, and anyone who thinks it applies to both is ignorant

you are ignorant

7 RespostasNo damage falloff does not mean infinite range. It retains its full damage until reaching the end of its range. Like this: Normal=---100---80---50---0 No falloff=---100---100---100---0

I think I got Cancer... Every single kind.

Let me post the patch notes for Hard Light, OP, since it sounds like you clearly didn't read them. "HARD LIGHT Changes: Increase base Stability to 80 (was 65) Increase bounce count for Hard Light projectiles Hard Light PROJECTILES are not affected by Damage Falloff" Projectile is what the gun shoots, it doesn't shoot ricochets, it shoots projectiles.
-
You make me sad, I nearly peed my pants when it said no falloff
-
This post gives me cancer.
-
If you are wrong, I hope you will print out your post on actual paper and "eat your words" both figuratively and literally...and post a video, that way we can all see you be honourable. It would be awesome lol.
-
We'll just have to wait and see once the tuning patch hits I suppose.
-
The auto rifle is pretty underpowered and under used so the buff is reasonable I think
-
little brains huh? You sound like a douche and that overpowers anything else you may have to say really
-
Having an auto rifle with no damage falloff would be OP they wouldn't do that!
-
Correction: Bungie did NOT specifically state what wasn't affected by drop off. They only said tge projectiles themselves will lose drop off dmg....never said it was post rebound, or pre rebound. Stop assuming that you're right....ill repeat. Bungie did not specify which was affected.
-
Editado por Chad: 7/20/2015 10:38:35 PMHonestly gets me that people actually believe this gun isn't gonna have any bullet damage drop off lololol people on here really are dumb. If bungie isn't dumb they will only have the ricochet not have drop off like its intended.
-
Well with this change you might actually see people fire hard light to ricochet bullets around corners, for pvp at least, serves little purpose to try and do so in pve. I find that idea rather cool to try in pvp now... Don't think I have a hard light though, should of bought it when xur had it lol.

1 ResponderMakes sense if the bullets are HARD LIGHT *wink wink*
-
The ricochet rounds not having damage drop doesn't make sense. So basically if you shoot the ground at an angle you can artificially increase the range infinitely? The weapon would still be capable of doing the same thing by trick shooting from walls etc... It would defeat the purpose of limiting that ability to ricochet rounds. The "projectile" doesn't magically transform when it hits a solid surface, it should be the same projectile from exiting the barrel to hitting or passing through a target.
-
6 RespostasNot trying to be mean here, but how can you possibly confuse ricochet and projectile? Plus, have you ever tried to shoot someone with an AR across a map? Is this supposed to be satire? If not, stop making assumptions and acting like you are right, especially if your theory doesn't make sense. Please correct me if I am wrong.
-
Editado por bcmatt13: 7/20/2015 11:45:42 PMA projectile is what is fired by the gun. If they were making only ricochet rounds not affected by damage drop off, they would have said so. Even bungie isn't that ignorant. You actually make yourself look ignorant as well, because even with max range, the bullet spread will still be so wide that you wouldn't kill them. Yes, you can max stability, but that still doesn't make the bullets go in a perfectly straight line.
-
90 RespostasPlease show us where it says this and stop making assumptions. It says clearly in the patch notes "Hard Light projectiles are unaffected by damage falloff." How can you possibly interpret that as applying to ricochet rounds only??
-
Just because there is no damage fall off doesn't mean it will be easy to do damage at longer range.
-
This is correct.
-
5 RespostasRange on an any auto rifle is less than a sniper. The fall off refers to the range the auto rifle can itself reach. It's not implying that all of a sudden there's an ifinite range with no fall off. I will agree its so poorly worded it's hard to tell but based off of the bullet above it "◦Increase bounce count for Hard Light projectiles" I'm inclined to agree with you.
-
How do people not understand this like really it's so simple.
-
3 RespostasYou look cute today

What the tuning post actually says:
Changes... * Increase bounce count for Hard Light projectiles * Hard Light projectiles are not affected by Damage Falloff
There's no reading between the lines or interpretation to be done here. These are short, simple declarative statements: Hard Light projectiles can bounce more times than they could before, and there's no damage falloff for Hard Light projectiles. A round doesn't suddenly become a projectile the first time it bounces.

Sorry didn't understand a sentence you wrote
