So let me get this straight
Originally.....
The CE costs 80
Expansion costs 40
Day one players were not granted access to items unless they bought the CE
Now.....
The CE is still costs 80
Expansion still costs 40
And the content costs 20
My question is: did we just complain our way into helping bungie make more money?
Not many people were going to spend money on what they already own but now a lot of people are going to spend an extra 20.
Edit: Luke was right, we will throw money at our TV. They baited us into freaking out and switch the pricing strat to make it appear as if we are getting something in return.
Edit: for those people saying "it's marketing"
Exactly what marketing strategy are you referring to?
Review and revise?
Because one of the worst things to do in marketing is to alienate existing customers
Edit: omg economics blah blah blah not arguing supply and demand I'm not arguing pricing strategy. I'm pointing out that they are scum and mind ___ you into buying or potentially buying content that should be earned on the game.
Edit: this....
My only problem with this is that now, we have shown that this system of creating "special content for special snowflakes", works. It won't be a permanent business model (You can only make so many purchasable emotes and shaders before the others don't feel as special), but it has shown Bungie that we will pay a lot of money for customizations for our characters. And that could be a long and slippery slope...
Last edit: deez nuts
got em
WOW the fact this thread got over 300 is crazy considering my flawed logic and poor grammar. Lolz as KG once yelled "anything is possible"

1 ResponderWhat's up with all the "than stop playing" arguments? Don't you want to earn your gear in the game? It reminds me of "Players" who are getting a new quest and the first thing they do is looking how to solve it on YouTube.

2 RespostasDude this is business. Their job is to make money for their company. It's a very competitive industry and they aren't doing anything illegal or deceptive. Everything is laid out there for you and you can choose to buy it or not, your choice. They don't owe you anything.

2 RespostasThis happens all the time. It's life, no matter how unfair. I can buy a 2015 Honda for 20k, then go out and spend 300$ for a GPS for it. My friend can wait till next year and get a 2016 Honda for 18k with a built in GPS. Sure their car is cheaper with the same options (and more because its newer) but I can't tell Honda to give me more stuff just because I paid more.

Anyone who thinks there's some kind of sophisticated marketing strategy at play here probably thinks whoever came up with compare the meerkat was a genius. Activision are using the same 'marketing strategy' your average crack dealer employs, gradually jacking up the price for smaller and smaller hits til your in so deep you're robbing old women just to get your hands on one more shader.

2 RespostasEditado por ATotalScrewBall: 6/26/2015 7:29:36 AMEDIT Fallout 4 can't get here quick enough The only good thing about Destiny is the social aspect of playing with your friends and most of them (including me) will be disappearing once FO4 is out. Some of my day one friends gave up once CE came out as they we're p-ed off at the fact you couldn’t rank up VoG gear to new levels. £40.00 is a lot of money for what - a continuation of a story!!! Maybe £20.00 max and I might have been tempted.

1 ResponderI'm throwing $ at my TV and it's a glorious sight. I'm going to send Bungie a shoe box filled with $20's and a thank you note so they can make it rain in their office because they made such an awesome game. I'm also going to ask them to raise the prices on all future content because I don't think they charge enough for such a quality product.
-
Sorry, that's the fresh Perch I just caught. I'll take it elsewhere

Its the communitys fault the 20 dollar upgrade exists The digital ce was 80 to begin with (which doesnt make sense as the physical is also 80) The y1 edition was 60 The difference was 20 dollars and 9 items, if bungie made them cheaper then people who already had the ce would complain about losing money

9 RespostasHonestly who the -blam!- is going to pay 20$ for unimportant customization and other shit " I'm day on ALPHA,BETA AND VANILLA" kids just to make them more special will buy it And...... Um rich kids I'm not about to pay the price of the game (bought it 2 times anyway) for a expansion that may or may not have a raid and some stuff that should have been included with my original $60 disk

5 RespostasI think people just need to realise stuff costs money. If I play this expansion for +100 hours it's less than a $1 an hour playtime. The longer I invest into the game the cheaper it gets. I'd rather this model than a pay per month or something like that. Got no issues with the pricing and I come from Australia. Mind you I pre ordered the collectors edition to begin with so not getting the content was never an option for me.

1 ResponderWhy does Bungie try so hard to make us each regret supporting them? 40+20 for the Collector's TKK. Wow, great deal, guys.
-
They're doing a lot of black hat tactics sure but hey like I told a few friends if you hate it that much just delete the game and move on and come back when something interesting happens. A lot of games are coming out soon and I don't see destiny really holding everyone like they're doing now. The hardcore fans will stay of course but once their friends leave and less and less people play the game will slowly rot away. Once my friends/co-workers stop playing I'm sure I'll depart as well. I paid for the Dark Below and I haven't paid for the TTK so I can move on to better things.

My 2 cents... Damn it Canada , that's rounded to 5 cents. Damn it Europe, wait..what.

Editado por skunkiebaby: 6/26/2015 6:46:40 AMHow much tkk is everything should be in there, it just takes the piss what they are doing ! 2 dlc's for £35 I paid and now they want £60 for 1 with all its bells and whistles ! Don't seem right does it ? I'll be spending my money on battlefront instead thank you .
-
5 RespostasFact: you're more likely to win the lottery than getting something from Activision for free.

1 ResponderJust gonna leave this here

The digital content isn't worth the extra 20, specially since the collector edition gives you the digital content AND physical stuff for $20.
