I have always ran across a few people who have higher grimoire than me and think they are better at me than the game. To be honest, I think those people go to Destiny Tracker and grind all day for +5 Grimoire each time. The real question here is this:
Does Grimoire really tell who you are?
My opinion: Sort of
Edit 1: Seems like we are having a contest here about who has the highest Grimoire even though this wasn't the main point. (Max=3665)
Edit 2: Like this post if you agree with my opinion
Edit 3: Some people have been telling me that I grind for Grimoire. That is not true as I stopped at 3550. It may be high but that is because I played the game a lot since day 1. Never wasted time killing 250 ogres ect..
-
I don't care. I just play the game.
-
IMO grimoire shows time invested in the game
-
Yes I agree

3 RespostasHonestly it does tell who you are! I think that you are having a hard time with the hardest grimoire to get!! They are challenges presented in the game like every other game!! I have 3660 grimoire and it's really the only thing I feel good about accomplishing on my own other then going flawless and getting my platinum trophy! I think that people with Max grimoire are generally better at the game because they are veteraned! That being said I would imagine that you are better then some with a higher grimoire but majority are probably better then you are and since stats are everything it definiltly helps when some punk starts messaging you about anything!! And just so you know the doubles card is glitched for me is why I don't have 3665 but I've done it all!

Various milestones in activities, enemy kills in both PvP and PvE, different weapon type usage. It demonstrates how well rounded a player is. For example... A strictly control PvP player who only uses a Hunter with hand cannons shotguns and rockets will have a horrendous Grimoire score and I wouldn't expect much from him in any activity outside his comfort zone.
-
InfinityDrags explanation is very detailed. Thank you!
-
It's a matter of correlation. A person playing a lot will mostly have a high grimoire score. Playing a lot tends to make you better at certain activities. A person that does not play a lot or just a few activities will have a lower score. This often means a player is less experienced (doesn't mean the player sucks). So in most cases the chance to judge if a person is good, can be measured in grimoire.
-
I think it does... to me personally, but I could care less about everyone else's.
-
I personally don't believe that it matters. Look at my shit grimoir and you might say I am a noob although I have been grinding since day 1
-
It does in the sense that you can expect a certain level of experience but not in the sense that it makes them a superior player. You can find talented players at all stages of Grimoire. To me, it really just serves as a badge of experience. I see a high Grimoire score and I'll know that he/she knows what to do in any game mode and won't have to be guided.

1 ResponderGrimoire matter, centurion crap his pants whenever he see anyone with more than 3200 grimoire
-
Generally speaking yes. A few loose ends but in most cases it's true.
-
-
Max grimoire. It doesn't matter, but I had fun achieving it.
-
3535 grimoire for me. It's meaningless.
-
Yes and no. No because it could be a sign that you only like PvP and a few raids Yes because it means that person has explored everything the game has to offer PvP and PvE.
-
2 RespostasIt shows experience and not skill
-
It does matter. It means you have been places most guardians don't know exist.
-
No it doesnt
-
Grimoire doesn't matter. I don't bother with ghosts or grinding kills or collecting exotics. I've beat countless trials teams with 3000+ Grimoire and it feels good everytime.
-
It's a nice way to see if a player is experienced. But that's it.
-
Other than than giving Destiny the story it never had, no not really
-
It shows experience. Not skill.
