If you think the shows are messed up, it gets MESSED UP in the manga series. There is a reason why they haven't managed to make more shows due to censorship.
-
Is berserk that messed up?

Editado por lusciouscookies: 4/26/2015 3:08:23 AM*Spoiler* The main character of the story; Gatts, was born from the corpse of his dead mom, who had been hung from a tree. He was saved, when a band of mercenaries chanced upon the tree, and their resident whore took pity on him. However, she will die horribly in front of Gatts due to plague 5 years later. Gatts will then be suffer an abusive childhood at the hands of the merc leader, Gambino, who blamed Gatts for the death of his favorite slut. Gambino forces Gatts to wield a normal sword since he was 6, instead of providing him with a smaller sword, saying there are no kiddie swords on a battlefield. Gambino then sells Gatt's body for 3 silver coins to a pedophile merc when he was 12, and NEVER even acknowledges Gatts as a human being, even when he had to depend on Gatts to live after losing a leg. Finally, one fateful night, Gambino will try to murder Gatts in his sleep, blaming him for his misfortunes, which forces Gatts to kill the only family he ever knew. And that is barely 1/50 of the story.

Ok that's a pretty good story. How many episodes are in berserk?
-
The manga is still ongoing at 300 plus chapters. Each with progressively more -blam!-ed up shit than the last.
-
Well hopefully they continue the anime because I want to watch it.
-
They probably won't/will find a hard time getting through censorship. Eg; A fairy moth demon kidnaps kids and turns them into "fairies" (tiny homicidal wasp pixies that hunger for human flesh). Gatts stops one attack on a small town, by crushing dozens of the "fairies" with the flat of his blade, and luring them into a barn to burn them all. In death, the "fairies" revert back to children, so there were tons of mutilated and burnt dead kids in his wake.

Hey I just search up berserk and it was made in 1997. That's really old and there's no remake?
-
It is still ongoing as a manga, albeit very slowly. But as reasons stated above, it most likely won't continue as an anime.
-
They might make a new one like a remake. A new one that's safer.
-
Then they would have to cut out 3/4 of the manga, and you wouldn't be left with the fight scenes.
-
Fight scenes aren't that bad though. There's worse animes than this. But the anime didn't follow the manga either right?
-
It follows even the -blam!- scene, so it probably does to an extent. There are many other scenes like torture, child killings, -blam!- by trolls, and more stuff that would be just a nightmare to animate. I sure wish they would do that, but I think it'll be hard to find a willing company to commit on this series. Especially since it hasn't ended yet.

Ok that does sound messed up but now I want to watch this show more. It would be better if they made a new one with brand new animations and art like they did with the Hunter X Hunter anime. It would make it so much better.
-
Its still ongoing as a manga series. But like I said, it most likely won't continue as a video series. The animation would be too sickening and difficult to make.
-
Well that's messed up. And I want to watch this show now
