Oh. My. God. They ruined my favourite weapon!
Devil’s Ruin has been my constant companion since its release. It was perfectly fine the way it was, all it needed was a catalyst to give it enlightened action or a base reload speed increase. It DID NOT need to have the beam locked away behind firesprites! I keep desperately looking for a reason to come back to this game because what I have seen so far has utterly failed to convince me, and then they go and mess with this?! No one seems to understand the old motto these days: if it ain’t broke don’t -blam!- fix it!

Fire sprites on kills add solar synergy and free grenade energy. Ignition on kills is really good… This is a substantial buff to the gun. Hardly a bad thing that it won’t be useless anymore.

8 RespostasIts a massive buff And will synergize with solar like crazy. You do realize it will be the only gun capable on making firesprites on demand ? Making it capable of activating a lot of solar fragments. And also meaning you can activate the beam on demàd except it will both applu scorch and immediate ignites on kills ? Making it work even better with solar fragments and aspects ? And also you will be able to use the sidearm full auto thats a QoL change. And here you are crying before trying the gun...even tough its currently terrible, for the joke i was trying to use it 2 days ago. It was straight up terrible to use, and ineffective. Idk where you were using it, but outside of patrols and lost sectors its just straight up better to punch ennemies with regular melees than using this sidearm x) I also tried it in gm's....after 10 laser beams you may end up killing a champion yay. But with the changes, oh boy it will be in my loadouts for sure as i love laser beams ! (When they deal dmg)

76 RespostasEh I liked the laser, but I can't get behind having the regular rounds shoot when I release the trigger instead of when I pull it. Getting rid of that alone makes it better to me.

Despite me not really ever using it. I will say, reading those changes upset me. Not having full access to the thing that made it exotic anymore really sours the whole point of the gun. Sure it now scorches, but that's just another ticker to the question, "what other old solar exotic still needs the scorching mechanic?" To lock the whole unique part of an exotic behind needing a fire sprite just so it can now scorch too? Nah...just another writing on the wall.

Some things are nice. The fire sprite thing is goona suck. I’ll go from rarely using it to never using it I’m sure.

The devs are clueless about what the players want why tf would they ruin such a unique weapon ,reminds me of the lament nerf a weapon used by barely anyone uses gets tanked
