Its time for pinnacle RNG to go away...enough is enough
I get it, "playtime metrics". I have not had a SINGLE boot pinnacle drop, across all 3 characters. I know its only week 3, but Ive done all my pinnacles on Titan today (thanks check point bots!) and not a single boot yet either. I got 4 heavy weapons, 2 chests, 2 energy weapons, and then random armor....but no boots.
If you're serious about keeping the stupid +10 power grind every season (and locking guardian rank 11 behind rng) then its time for pinnacle focusing or drop protection. With TFS/Echoes it took me 13 weeks to finally get my final pinnacle helmet...and here I am again at the mercy of a poor, outdated, frustrating system.
Or you could get rid of the dumb +10 grind, like you did last year...that made people actually happy.

They're afraid people won't play as much but the reality is that a lot of people have completely left the game because of it

24 RespostasThe stats of the activities you played to get your pinnacle boots, shows that THERE IS NO RNG. I repeat again, your experience shows THAT THERE IS NO RNG. It's rigged, it's a rigged system. Do the math, and you'll understand why we actually want full and independent RNG, literally a coin-toss. If we had that, for all the activities you got, you should've gotten a fairly uniform drops of all gear and weapons. The fact that you're missing one particular item, shows that the system is rigged. It goes like this: Q: What's the probability you'd get heads on a coin toss? A: 0.5 (about 1/2 the time) Q: What's the probability you'd get 10 heads in a row of 10 consecutive coin tosses? A: 0.00097656 (about 1 in 1024 10-consecutive coin tosses). Your experience is more like the latter. No boots. Rigged system. Good luck Guardian!

after 50 pinnacle engrams at 2010 no class items for any of my 3 characters So I can say "same here" Nothing new though always been like this real pain real struggle to get this last piece of gear to hit the pinnacle cap So recurrent and constant that it's hard to believe that it is just about RNG and luck So frustrating !....

1 ResponderTime to ditch this game since they're too stubborn to pad the play time with pinnacle grinding, they need to see that pinnacle makes people play less and don't want to spend money and another looming threat from Sony over their heads to understand

3 RespostasI just got my 4th pair of boots in a row. This game is torture. Would not recommend to anyone. Vent over Oh well, back to haunted lost sectors for no good reason.

1 ResponderThis only shows that there is NO RNG. See my comment to wikked75 below on his getting 4 boots in a row. Instead what you want, is true independent RNG.

2 RespostasNah the removal of the gear power grind was a horrible monkey paw because then they slapped a level lock on all content which made the game unnecessarily tedious in the gameplay aspect. Atleast when we had to grind power, you were only ever temporarily underleveled for content and could grow and be powerful. Instead they get rid of the power grind, level lock all content, and it turn makes even the most basic content permanently tedious and the player is always underleveled

At least if not protection there should be the old system of choosing armour or weapons. Protection on top for additional characters would be nice as well

I wish there were 2 currencies like FFXIV where I can do certain activities to get them. One that is capped weekly and one that isn't. The one that isn't gives armor and weapons at the hard cap. This comes from the activities that grant pinnacles gear (will be changed to hard cap) and will be used to prepare people to get into the raid and dungeon. There is no RNG here. So if we were at 1950 at the start of TFS, we grind this currency out from ritual playlists, iron banner, seasonal and that directly gets us to 1980. Then the raid is released at 1990. And the raid gives us the capped currency that allows us to buy pinnacle called gear. If the pinnacle cap is raised for the season, the dungeon should grant the new pinnacle cap. This would make dungeons and raids even more relevant.

(Pinnacle activity is just anything that currently drops pinnacle gear) Removes RNG from power level increases, but you still need to get drops and actually feel like you're leveling up for people into that.

Only your last sentence is the real answer. Stop the power increase in seasons or at all. The power system is obsolete and annoying.

1 ResponderProbably done on purpose i notice pinnacles take way longer to load in when they drop compared to other world drops. Its kinda suspicious.

1 ResponderI think they just need to get rid of the power caps (soft, hard, and pinnacle power caps) It's dumb and confusing having the whole powerful 1, powerful 2, powerful 3, and pinnacle engram. Just change it so that depending on the drop source it will range from a +1 to a +4 power level item.

2 RespostasIf you care about hitting pinnacle cap I suggest using your other 2 characters also. With account based power sharing its easy to hit pinnacle cap. Took me 2 weeks to hit pinnacle cap with account based power sharing and I didn't do all the pinnacles either.

15 RespostasTake a deep breath… Stop LOOKING for it to drop. Just play the game and it will happen at some point. I’ve been casual as I’ve ever been, really only playing one characters and started getting 2010 gear over the weekend.

I've now gotten 34 max power drops without getting a class armor (the last slot I need).

I haven't grinded any pinnicals and my gears 1 from max so it's called your trying to hard stop try harding and just have fun

Agree, there is nothing quite like spending a couple hours playing pinnacle activities and walking away with nothing to show for it.

I stopped asking for this as I was getting nowhere, In the 7 years ive been playing D2 ive had 2 seasons (season of the hunt & season of defiance) both of which I failed hitting pinnacle cap because of the pinnacle RnG, the entire season, RnG can be a blessing and a curse and the people that give you negativity on this post have clearly never had the terrible RnG but its just that RANDOM, it affects every single player differently.
