Tell me about your experience.

So…everyone has their gripes about TFS. But overall we can all agree that Destiny is a good game, generally. But my question is, how did y’all convince your friends to play D2? Do they still play and enjoy it? Or no? Just tell me your experience. Maybe Bungie will read this and make this game a little easier to adapt to for new lights.

  • None of my friends play destiny. They haven’t played regularly since CoO and Warmind. I can talk them into playing for a day, but they never come back. 😂

    • I started a few months ago and love this game. The game play is great. My coworker who got me into the game occasionally drags me through dungeons and a raid. I mostly like running around and shooting stuff, not a fan of puzzles. I am a long time wow player so i understand boss mechanics. All that being said. I hate this xpac. I do not like the constant puzzles and refuse to try dual destiny again. It is rediculous to try and learn 20 symbols and call them out in the middle of the fight. Thats not good fight mechanics, trying to match the symbols to the chart he sent me on discord to the symbols in the air. They should not have put the class item behind that mission. As it stands now i have little desire to play since i cannot progress. If you like that mission thats great for you but playing pictionary in the middle of a fight is lame and i wont spend the time being annoyed.

      • Started back in Beyond Light, I’ve played regularly since. I was able to convince a couple of friends to join but they just considered the grind too much. I don’t have anyone left who I play with on the regular. While I enjoyed Lightfall, I have to admit the it fell a bit flat, and that’s when most of my group left. Everyone else left during the Season of the Wish content drought. It’s really tragic what’s happening to D2 rn, but whatever.

        • Solo player, don’t have friends, games ok, not good but not bad… biggest problem is it’s very repetitive which gets boring for me

          • Small clan, I am the only one left who routinely plays. 1. I feel like there is a lot more grind than there used to be. Maybe that’s just my impression after playing for several years. Needing to grind and level up weapons and armor almost every season gets tiresome. Even more so if playing all three characters. 2. New locations are typically set at a higher power for the enemy. When WQ came out, a few clan mates came back on. We could hardly do anything together or go anywhere on the Thorn World, since they were so under powered and enemies over powered. It just became frustrating for them. 3. TFS: PaleHart is excellent from a visual standpoint. It’s so detailed, and what I would like to see the other locations become. 4. TFS content, builds onto point number one. It makes everything both bland to do repeatedly, but much more of a grind. Most story missions were filled with “mini-raid-like” “tasks / mechanics, that I at least didn’t find fun. Most bosses had damage phases. 5. Content after the main story was/ is similar. Also not much seems to be explained on what to do for quests. I will use the : khvostov and class item quest as examples. I had to look up not only how to start the khvostov mission/ what it takes to get that weapon, but also how to do those steps/ or the location to go to. Similar for the Exotic Class item. From what I can tell, I don’t even have that mission unlocked yet. I understand that looking it up isn’t that hard. However, why should a video game have that kind of standard? That kind of clueless no direction built into it to start with? I feel, even as a new light, that lack of direction and explaining has always been one of the bigger issues in this game.
