It really doesn’t take a nuclear physicist to to tell you that if you make it harder to kill people, people don’t want to rush as often because they don’t feel powerful. So they huddle up, just like they did in year 1. All because FIVE PEOPLE liked checkmate.

 • I'm no fan of shotgun- or fusion-apes, but I find it strange that Bungie keeps trying to take a game built around being relatively quick and flashy and keeps trying to slow it down into something more deliberate and calculated. Keep in mind that I prefer slower, mindful fights and I still find it bizarre that Bungie is making these moves. It wouldn't be especially difficult to allow methodical playstyles to function alongside playstyles that rely on the sprint button being glued down, but they refuse to take the steps to build that environment. Not just in PvP either; PvE suffers from this same mindset. Just look at your average "increased difficulty" settings and what do you see?: higher HP, higher enemy damage, more spammy enemies... no real difficulty increase to be found, just cannons attached to sponges that force you to play slow and exceedingly safe simply to survive to the boss fight.

 • Playing as a team, in a team based mode is bad? You’re only harder to kill if you can’t hit crits. Zero correlation to year one. Ttk is the same as old sandbox and abilities are less prevalent(except OS). Maybe people aren’t as good at PvP as they thought.

 •
Maybe people aren’t as good at PvP as they thought.
100% agree. Hence why they’re not rushing as much, because they can’t hit their crits and are being punished for hitting body shots. Don’t forget, the special ammo changes also play a factor in this. Because people don’t have their fusion rifle ready for them 100% of the time, they’re not as confident in a gunfight at a base level. Loop in reduced ability regen and you get the current meta. Calling it right now, Bungie will do some kind of “roll back” to some of these changes, whether or partially or not, before the year is out.

 • I can see an adjustment to the amount of progress they give to the special meter in QP for primary and OBJ metrics. However, most other changes needed to happen, and any real step back will revert it to abilities and specials oppression, which was increasingly frustrating to play against. Precision and accurate play should be incentivized, and blaming people because you can’t aim is just a sorry hill to die on(not you, the generic PvP hate atm)

 • Make no mistake, I think the changes are GREAT. These Changes have made gunfights more fair, more skillful, and not as ability focused. But the player reaction to these changes is the problem. No one wants to challenge on their own anymore, everyone’s scared to push. These changes, suprisingly, are perfect for trials. Because of the zone, people are FORCED to push. But because there’s not as much ability regen or supers, and sometimes no special, it actually feels great having freedom from OSKs. But for 6s, it’s ONLY teamshooting. THAT’S what’s going to stop people from playing. THAT’S what will cause Bungie to undo changes later.

 • Teamshots have always been prevalent, and are mandatory for QuickPlay for most players. Like I mentioned, I’d be fine with an increase to the special meter for completing objectives or getting assists/defeats in QP. But people can, and need to learn to play for a few minutes without their OHK weapons, and there needs to be a risk/reward structure to them

 •
I’d be fine with an increase to the special meter for completing objectives or getting assists/defeats in QP.
HARD disagree. The fact that you get ammo for ASSISTS is ridiculous. Perhaps needed in trials because of the lower kill potential, but not in 6s, where coughing can get you 3 assists.

 • I mention the assists as a means for those that complain about teams shots to be able to get special. I’m just giving options to those that are complaining.

 • Especially if you make it harder to kill people two ways.
