Precisions did get to be good for a while over the course of the last few years. But when that was the case burst sidearms were weaker. Now its looking like single shot sidearms are going to end up a little weaker and bursts will be stronger for a while. Having a sought after 260 sidearm that everyone is using in PvP probably wouldn't be all that fun for very long for most people. When something like that is strong enough to be a true meta weapon the only things that can really go against it would be shotguns or fusions. Even hand cannons would have trouble so sidearms, shotguns and fusions. Its one of the reasons that even though sidearms have been my secondary weapon for years I prefer for them to be more niche. Its not because its makes people special for using them as much as its because it would probably make for a pretty bad meta if they were strong enough to be that.

Why does bungie hate sidearms in general, smgs have completely overtaken all sidearms that aren’t drang. 300 sidearms are so strong boasting a .6 optimal TTK with up to 18 meters of range. All while lightweight sidearms have a .67 optimal and a measly 16m with a MAX RANGE ROLL.

I love sidearms and use them mostly in PVP.. but I’ve notice that they have lost their precision damage. I’ve got thousands of kills on them.

As a player that’ll tuck in closely to my targets, I really wanna like sidearms and I’ll return to them more than not, but swords and shotguns usually end up in my hands.
