So u want to be able to stomp in a group while the solos get -blam!- on in cbmm nice. Also pvp is a mess right now. Bungies pvp team is on a competative mindset, which is ruining the experience for most players. They need to make the game fast paced and fun again.

We were playing normally, together. That’s not possible now. The variety is gone. You say you want SBMM and are trying to say that it helps retain players and yet it has been in the game for quite some time now and the PvP population has only been dropping. You yourself are not even playing. Why should you be listened to when the changes you’re asking for were put into the game and you’re still not playing?

  • Also sbmm has been proven to keep other games populations alive. People just like to complain about destiny.

  • Activision made a while post about it feel free to go read about it. The biggest thing I got out of it though was low skilled players, if on a losing streak will either quit the match or just stop playing the game all together. And I think this is the thing bungo wants to stop. They want the lower skilled players to play and want their player numbers to increase. If pvp is too difficult for them why would they continue to play. That's what cbmm does it throws some of the best players against some of the worst and if that happens multiple times why play. And ur low skill players are almost always ur majority playerbase.

  • Sure, but if you cater to the bad players you lose your dedicated players and any semblance of aspirational goals. It’s a lose lose situation. Currently, bad players are able to get better. Better players are able to enjoy the crucible. It’s not a bug, it’s suppose to work that way. If people can’t handle that then pvp is not for them, because Bungie cannot protect them from other players.

  • No u won't lose ur dedicated playerbase. That was another thing mention I. The Activision article. Those players will play because they are dedicated and skilled. U will always see the top 10% play pvp because they are good and will always be good no matter what. But if ur bottom 30% being generous, get completely stomped they will just leave the game entirely and go play something else.

If you balance your game around casual players, you will in fact lose your dedicated playerbase. It’s happened so many times. The only way to make bad players able to compete with good players, is through what’s called “blue shell mechanics,” or “catch up mechanics.” These unfairly punish people who are skilled enough to win, and give a huge advantage to someone who is losing. Dedicated players in fps games hate blue shell mechanics. It takes away from the games integrity. And pvp games live and die by their integrity.
