Exactly this. Gimmicks. HATE them. And with random teams, objective based games tend not to be followed anyways. I have been playing this game for a long time and I think it boils down to a couple factors for Bungie at this point. 1. They have a player base they can and therefore will exploit for money and no matter what.. they will make enough.. maybe not as much as they want, but, the numbers are there to continue to exploit the players 2. This means a few more things, innovation is at a minimum 3. Innovation is not requires 4. Gimmicks are easier than actual game content. 5. Bungie is out of ideas and you can now head to point one and go through it all over again. Bungie staff are so busy congratulating themselves over great jobs done, they fail to see that while stunning visually, audibly and physically, the overall mental fun of the game has drained out of the game becasue the team has lots what made them and the games they made really exceptional. Put yourself in the shoes you wore when you purchased the game. If it was 10 years ago, where were your, what were you doing and what did the game represent that kept you playying? For many, what keeps us playing has nothing to do with the current content but, the rememberance of what it used to be, how the game used to play and how it used to be so much fun.. now many are just hoping to get to the end of TFS and the conclusion of the story to put the book down.. but, can't quite do it as the final chapter looms before us.. yet the book has progressively gotten worse and worse..

Sad thing is, it's kinda our fault. We keep buying their game.
