Is there any way possible you could explain in general what you mean when you say "balance pvp?" There are a ton of different ideas about what that means.

  • A ranking system based of of skill level and a separate instance for serious PvP. Look at RB6 Siege. A causal and a ranked lobby with the same maps and everything but in ranked there a serious penalties for leaving a instance and leaving your team high and dry.

    Is r6s the same in every mode outside of being either casual or ranked? Kind of hard to say if destiny should go in exactly that direction. People in this game should definitely know and feel what they're playing a little better than they do though. This game probably needs some form of penalty built into it that somehow is severe enough but also doesn't result in things that cutoff the possibility for advancement over time. Assigning things according to matchmaking type would probably be a good idea. As long people are able to understand that every type of matchmaking has it's good and bad characteristics. Some of the stuff people complain about as far as balance is going to have a really hard time going all the way away. And setting things up in such a way that highlights the choice between matchmaking could help more people better discern the differences. Definitely going to have to let go of some of the stuff like playing late in the season at 2 in the morning and wondering why the game has a hard time finding people 20 matches a row with awesome outcomes. Sometimes when it gets bad people will be expecting this game to do things that no other pvp game can really do when this is the last game that should be trying to do it as far as balance is concerned.

  • Yep we are on the same page I think. I was using RB6 as an example as they have done a ton of trial and error until they found a solid system that could be adapted in my option to make the game specifically PvP a better experience. It will never be perfect but imo we are far from even a good PvP experience now.

  • That's what the strike team is going to be for though. And that's the good thing about how they developed pvp from forsaken until now. All of the pieces are in place for them to be able to guide the mode to where it needs to be. Just took time to get here. It's really not anywhere near as bad as it seems. As players we sometimes just lose our concept of time in terms of how much actually goes into this stuff. Don't know about you and maybe I'm just crazy but with like 4200 hours in pvp alone it appears to me that they decided to do things the right way instead of the quick and easy way. Doing it the way they did it is going to pay dividends far into the future.

  • I do hope they implement some of the feature they have been discussing. Fine will tell and I do have hope for the Destiny Future.
