Considering some people I meet ingame makes me wish we would also have negative commendation cards for bad behavior...
There are a few regular offenders that could be turned into cards, among the most important ones a negative commendation card for ignoring champions (literally running past them and skipping to the next room of the level), bad communication, intentionally killing allies, etc.
People should see in-game what quality of player some are in random matchmaking. They should be able to look at their profile and be like "ah yes, that guy skips champions a lot, better I focus only on champions or leave and find a new lobby instead". Or "ah yes, that guy is griefing others a lot, probably by slamming them into walls with eagers edge sword perk or with shoulder charges". Or "ah yes, that guy is cussing/insulting others a lot".

If Bungie allowed commendations for negative behavior then the commendation system would have worth. There’s no value in a score when all scores mean nothing. But, because of internet culture - Bungie can’t allow trolls to just smut up everyone’s scores. So we are back to where commendations are a pointless aspect of the game & I’d be surprised if they remain in the game in future expansions/titles.

Thats why we throw fake endorsements at each other in games now. People dont wanna hear the truth, they rather hear fake positivity. The devs reflect that. They block people they don't like or whos opinions dont match theirs instantly on all social media. They behave like stubborn kids that dont wanna get told on by their parents, covering their ears to any bit of criticism. So obviously thats what we get for a new system by these political activists, sorry, these "devs"

"Ghosted" - for those that are busy checking bounties or changing shaders in the middle of an encounter (-5 points) 2. "Aaaaaand Taday" - for those that take a whole Rick Kackis Video long to scan something, complete the most basics of objectives in game. 3. "Guardian Down" - for those that spent more time being dead than getting kills. 4. "Life is like a box of chocolates" - for those that run through everything, missing all the ads. 5. "IT'S SO FLUFFY! I WANT TO DIE" - Everytime you die by an explosive unit... enemy units... I mean enemies. 6. "Get to de Choppa" - for those that are finishing a whole mag on a champ without stunning it once. 7. "My name is Jeff" - if you have been in the Strike or activity from the start, but have less than 25% of the kills of the guardian in second place.

I definitely see the possibility of it being abused. Perhaps a vote type system, where half or more of the fireteam has to give someone a "negative" commendation for it to count. I mean.. lord knows half the people on these forums would probably have a ton of negative commendations if they existed.

Right... be nice or don't engage.. What if the ppl you are matched are complete nobbs. Not everyone you come across in the game are nice ppl.. or even playing.. Imagine having commendations such as tool bag and afk bot. Yeah we are toxic, but making everyone be nice isn't really real.

There have been many times when I've been matched up with players who infuriated me for one reason or another, but allowing any kind of negative feedback would cause more harm than good. And as others have already pointed out, it could easily be abused. There would be people who would go out of their way to give negative commendations to as many people as possible. Why? Because they can, and some people just want to watch the world burn.

I agree completely with what you’ve saying, but i’m going to be honest players will abuse it because they’re mad… So many always blame it on others for their own bad play… I’ve had GM that i got messages that i suck, but these same players only killed ads and i always had a way higher score then them.. players in trials sending me that i’m the reason we lost but they died even more times then me… They will hate spam the negative one the same that they report everyone for cheating all the time etc…

I spent the duration of the farm running from that idiot because he thought it was more fun to shouldercharge/kick me off the map. Running any kind of raid/checkpoint is a rarity for me due to my nightshift schedule, & this guy went out of his way to ruin the experience. I wish I could have commended him to oblivion.

10 RespostasJoined an lfg that was headed “ Platinum GG’s strike. Both of the other players where killing all the champs before either finishing them or emote finishing them. I didn’t get chance to because they were killing them too fast. Then killed the boss way to fast. We didn’t get platinum. Not sure what they think they were doing.

Editado por Calvertacus: 5/22/2023 1:04:00 PMI think a better plan of attack (and one that bungie could hopefully look into at some point) would be the ability for bungie to be able to read or see guardian-on-guardian hit data... for example, if theres one guardian/account continuously wall slamming or killing others in their own fireteam? 🤔 especially at points where the next stage of a strike is incoming and your stood around waiting for the next incoming wave of enemies, g-on-g hits at that point are clearly trolls. With regards to people running on and missing champions... not much you can do about that, unfortunately, teamwork and consideration is increasingly rare. So commend and hold onto to those Guardians that do look out for others. 👍

1 ResponderThe problem is the stupid Guardian Rank system. Some objectives require others to give you Commendations. And as I'm sure others have said, if you need to rely on others for objectives, they will most likely troll you with negative ones instead of positive ones. Sure, you could LFG for a group and farm Commendations, but that's a big hassle for something that isn't even really worth it.

I second this notion for your exact reasoning i watch guys literally run pass one guy shooting them to tryn kill someone 100ft away after thwy watched this guy gun me down right in front of them…. Like dude hea right there then he kills them…. And all i can think is he wasnt f****n invisible he was right there he literally killed me in front of you and you keep running passed as if you ignore him hell ignore you like da f*******!!!!!!!

As long as it’s just to show they’re not a good teammate I’d be fine with it. It’s pretty annoying to have people blitz past champs or not bring anything to stun them and I have to carry everyone myself.

Commendations are just there as a motivator to play the game by creating envoy for players who have a larger number than you. They aren't actually meant to be functional. Good idea though, but live service games are built with psychology.
