With the exotic changes bungie announced a change to stompees that revert is stats back to pre AE nerf with the caveat that it now is only active when dodge is off cooldown.
You may ask how is it fair titans and warlocks keep their movement exotics and I’ll answer. Simply put dunemarchers extra utility option was nerfed, and shoulder charge will have a longer cooldown in addition. Transversive steps have always just been a good neutral game option that granted the ability to reload 1 weapon while sprinting much like hunter dodge.
So what’s the difference, vertical movement. Hunters have been and always will be the kings of vertical movement, being able to go up or down on a dime. Titans and warlocks can only run faster in a line, and that requires movement techs too.
Vertical movement in such a fashion is stronger than many other movement options as you can often jump away from dangers. In addition to a strong verticality hunters also have dodge which helps to reposition in a fight when out of position. Lastly with stompees not only do hunters receive a boost to that verticality, they also gain the ground movement advantage as well.
As a result bungie changed the exotic to make it more balanced in opposition to the other classes giving hunters a more defined role in pvp. Hunters will have dodge virtually all the time unless it’s needed, to which there is a relatively quick cooldown. Often stompees are used to make up for bad positioning and movement and now this encourages players to learn how to make proper engagements without nerfing the upper echelons of players who already have this skill.
