How would you make a frontline fighter then.
I challenge you to come up with an idea that isnt melee as a frontline fighter.

Turn the titans hands in to big cannons like mega man, or like android 16 from DBZ lol
-
I wanted a bubble super with half the health of voids but you can shoot through it from inside plus bubble effects players or adds with strand if they enter bubble which within successful kills could extend bubble life only in pve in pvp bubble duration never change Or give me a greenlantern mech suit so I can run round in a roaming super that atleast looks cool even if it was just a copy and paste of striker also give it a second perk for half a super cost make the mech suit stationary and give it turrets Yes both ideas would be op but hey it be funny

A giant battle standard that buffs nearby teammates A sword resembling Guts’ sword (so you can still call the class berserker) you can make that a one off big swing, or a cool new take on a roaming super Anything demolition or heavy weapons based, mini guns, rocket launchers, a nuke/big bomb etc Duplicate your held non heavy weapon into your left hand and Gunzerk them A giant “Lions roar” war cry super that buffs and Debuffs in a radius Create a riot shield in your left hand, giving you a massive frontal damage resistance But down a rally banner, giving teammates ammo and ability energy and maybe over shields while near it Summon a giant object, like a boulder, and hurl it with great strength Summon an anvil and hammer, striking it up to three times, providing teamates a sequentially stronger armor and damage buff for each strike (ideal for sun breaker but still) All of these supers can work on just about any subclass

Editado por Chrytor-6: 2/18/2023 2:36:11 PMCreate blades while spinning to destroy everything in a radius around you, and then finishes with a wave of strand going forward, dealing high damage. The heavy attack, but larger and more damaging Creating something physical to buff yourself/teammates. Similar to a bubble or well Slamming the ground and causing the floor around you to become covered in spiked green thorns. Shredding all enemies caught inside like a massive, cracked out witherhoard.

Is that why most Hunter builds center around melee ?
-
Most hunter builds focus around invis not melee.
-
3/4 of Arc Hunter is centered around melee. The lonely thing that’s not really is the NEW gathering storm super.
-
Yes... And? Arc hunter has been melee since day 1 of D1.
-
1) You said most hunter builds are centered around invis... which is literally 1/4 of their kits... ie not most. 2) I thought melee was a Titan class IDENTITY thing... so why is the arguably strongest and most dynamic melee kit on hunter? Isn’t melee the Titan identity? 3) If Titans are going to be pigeonholed into the melee class, they need something help them loop that ability kit better. Having to be sprinting just to use a melee ability make looping problematic, and they don’t have a free recharge like hunter gamblers dodge so even with precise build crafting the loop still has wait time.

Editado por G0lden Hunt3r: 2/18/2023 6:19:38 PMTitan is the frontline fighter. Not the melee class. Frontline fighter is the person on the front lines. And titan has the strongest melee with wormgods. Sentinel could do 6 million melee damage 1 season ago before they reduced wormgod's multiplier. Arc hunter can barely reach 600.000 at max combination blow with lethal current and 1-2 punch. And titan can combo it with the close to melee glaive...hunter cant. Also...most hunter builds are invis... Assasins cowl arc or solar...invis. Gyrfalcon...invis. Omni...invis. And strand will most likely use assasins cowl too.
-
Assassin's cowl is a melee build boi
-
Its an invis build.
-
Based on melees
-
Not true. You can also use fisighers.
-
Could've easily just been the heavy attack as a shutdown super and i promise you there would have been significantly less complaints.
-
Right?! Heck, I’ll probably be completely satisfied if the super can just ramp up single target damage. To heck with all my archetype arguments…😂
-
Frontline Fighter isn't the issue. It's a stylistic issue. A Strand Chain Flail would've been cooler. Claws aren't something that comes to mind when I think of a class about swinging energy strings and sentient energy bugs.

Posted this on another thread about this topic… maybe it’ll make sense here too. The issue with Titans subclasses identity has never been a ‘power’ issue… it’s a creative issue. Bungie has not done a good job creating archetypal fantasies for Titans in the same way they have for Hunters and Warlocks. They’ve done this most clearly on Hunters which I think contributes to their enduring popularity. They are clearly archetypical Rogues or agility based characters… Solar- Outlaw Void -Assassin Arc - Monk Stasis - Ninja Strand - Acrobat? They’ve done a decent job with Warlocks being classical mage/knowledge based archetype. Solar - White/Red Mage Void - Black Mage/Necromancer Arc - Green/Red Mage Stasis - Blue/Time Mage Strand - Summoner? They’ve done a poor job with Titans being classical Warrior/fighter archetypes. It’s really hard to come up with after Void. Void - Knight/Paladin Arc - Brawler? Solar - ??? Stasis - ??? Strand - Barbarian? This lack of clear archetypical characterization leads to the abilities feeling kind of mishmashed together and not having a clear theme. They also haven’t done a super great job giving Titans unique feeling abilities to make the kits feel like they play different. All the Hunter and Warlock melee abilities feel and work very differently. Titans have a flavor of shoulder charge that looks the same for the most part. 3.0 helped a little with things like Consecration but there is still no clear archetypical theme. Just my opinion though. I don’t see them changing anything anytime soon but the best thing they could do is give more thoughtful consideration to the way Titans interact in that ‘melee/close range’ playspace. But to answer your challenge just off the top of my head… let’s say the Strand Titan was all about Grappling/Holding Enemies - How about a melee that grabs an enemy with Strand threads, spins them around knocking close enemies back/killing them and then tosses them at a ranged target? - the barricade ability should be completely about immobilizing enemies and giving woven mail (no barricade created) the Super will take some more thought but that’s a start. That’s the whole point… giving it more thought than what appears to have been given currently.

Titan is. Void .. full on RPG tank with a shield. Arc=brawler with kicks. Solar=blacksmith with hammer. Stasis=magic monk with punching. Strand=berserker with two swords. So plenty of difference. This is in fact the FIRST titan subclass that actually has swords. And there is only 1 subclass on titan that punches...which is stasis.

🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️… but I’ll humor you.
Titan is. Void .. full on RPG tank with a shield. Funny how I said it was the only archetype. Arc=brawler with kicks. Using my words again… and holy smokes there aren’t even kicks. Solar=blacksmith with hammer. 1) Not an archetype but interesting idea. 2) It should be about buffing weapon damage… oops sorry Titan they gave that to Hunter because… Stasis=magic monk with punching. There is NOTHING archetypically monk like about Stasis Titan. Strand=berserker with two swords. They aren’t even swords. They look like those ball tops things from elementary school gym. So plenty of difference. Why don’t you main Titan for Lightfall then if they are so varied and different and exude creativity everywhere… it’ll be a unique experience right? Hunter is the boring samey class… I mean every class has four melee ability options on a subclass right? Three supers for everyone like Hunter right?… ooops nope Titan only has a max of two on every subclass. This is in fact the FIRST titan subclass that actually has swords. Not swords… And there is only 1 subclass on titan that punches...which is stasis. My goodness… 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ three more face palms for that one.
You didn’t even try your own challenge to make up something non-melee.

Saying arc doesnt use kick when its super and one of its melee options are kick based. And strand does use blades. Because even cone shaped blades are classified as blades
-
Saying arc doesnt use kick when its super and one of its melee options are kick based. A quote from Seismic strike... “After sprinting does a short time use your charged melee ability to slam SHOULDER FIRST into your target... “ so not a kick... And strand does use blades. Still not SWORDS... and there’s a reason they didn’t go all the way to Claws called copyright laws. Hence why Strand Titan is already referenced as ‘Wolvergreen’. Because even cone shaped blades are classified as blades
-
Its shoulder first on the ground. If you jump its a kick. And every super light attack is a kick.
-
Not a kick... look at the finishers Flying Kick, Drop Kick, etc. for animations that are kicks. There are kick animations in the game and shoulder charge isn’t one of them. Solar and Arc fly in with a knee/shoulder animation... Which I find odd since void still leads with a shoulder shield bash... but I’m not going to complain about one of the few areas Titan got a different animation.

Don't waste your time. His question is disingenuous. Doesn't matter what you say, he will just say it doesn't fit the "Class description".
