Personally I don't want the Event Pass but Bungie can monetize things it's their game so nothing to do about it at this point. But when it's so prominently shown and we still earn the tickets I feel like players should be able to do something with them at the very least. I figure also if players bought the event pass but only want some of the cosmetics this wouldn't be a terrible idea either. 1 ticket for 100 dust would be ideal for me so 2400 dust. I forget if it's per character or not. But it's at least something and maybe helps from at least a bit of the blowback from this whole event pass system in the first place.

1 ResponderIf the pass gave bright dust instead of the crap it came with I would've bought it but I'm not spending 10 bucks on ANOTHER ghost shell I'd need to max out to use (ghost shells should just be ornaments by now), an ugly ship and a boring emote.

16 RespostasEditado por Scratch: 7/25/2022 5:02:48 PMNot to be rude here but that entirely misses the point of the tickets. The tickets are a CON JOB, a device to manipulate you out of your money. Let's think about this and what's REALLY going on here. •You don't buy the cosmetics •What you buy is access to turn tickets you've earned for cosmetics •If you don't earn all the tickets before the event ends, you don't get the cosmetic. This is 'good' for multiple reasons. 1) Say you're a player who is willing to buy cosmetics and completes all challenges, earning every ticket. Great! You wanted all the cosmetics, you got something fun to do, life is peachy. 2) Say you're a player who bought the pass but hasn't earned all the tickets. Well, not so great. You paid to get this cosmetic bundle, but, since you were unable to earn all the tickets to claim all the cosmetics, the only way left to get all the cosmetics is to use the tickets you earned during the event to get as many as you can, and buy the rest with silver. So you wind up paying for the bundle, PLUS buying silver to get everything. 3) Say you're a player not willing to pay for a cosmetic bundle. OK, you do the event, and in the course of doing the event you earn tickets. Now you have these 'valuable' tickets and the event is about to end. What are you going to do? Just let the tickets expire? They ARE worth something, right? If you buy the pass then you get to redeem those tickets and get the cosmetics, so why not just buy the pass, I mean, you already have the tickets, go for it! The event ends tomorrow! Whether you see it or you don't this crap works! It's the same reason we can't just flat out buy seasons. It's like: •I want the new season •I give you money •You let me play the season Right? But Bungie says no, no, no, •You want the season •You convert your money to Eververse currency •You buy the season with our funny money. This way the season is $10, you pay $10, but when you pay your $10, but they throw in an extra 100 silver. Same deal as the tickets, now you have this currency whose ONLY value is when you spend money. That extra free 100 silver isn't enough to buy something, but, you have silver now! And if you use that silver you're saving money! If a finisher costs 1000 silver and you already have 100 silver you're saving money by buying the finisher! I mean c'mon, what are you going to do, not spend that free money? Just let that free money sit there... unused? The more you think about it the more you realize: 'I'm wasting money!' Because you've got 100 silver, and if you don't use it you're actually wasting money! So you decide the best thing to do, the smartest thing to do is buy that super cool, totally awesome, radical finisher. It costs 1000 silver so you buy 1000 silver and get the super cool, totally awesome, radical finisher. But... When you bought the silver to buy the finisher they threw you an extra free 100 silver again. Now you have 200 silver on your account. I mean, 200 silver, can't let that go to waste. You're not going to just throw away money are you? ....and so on and so on

1 ResponderI wasn't gonna complete the free bit, let alone the paid one. I've never liked solice anyway.

4 RespostasI bought it just cause I had $10 in Xbox credits that were going to expire soon...kinda wish I would have bought a different emote instead lol

Editado por Spawn Of Apathy: 7/27/2022 6:58:37 PMTickets are account wide. But this doesn’t seem like a fair trade for NOT buying the event pass. This request is basically, “Bungie I didn’t want to spend money, so give me more stuff for free”. If anything the trade off should be since those items in the pass are so terrible you can instead trade your tickets in for a huge chunk of bright dust if you buy the upgrade pass. I don’t see any other way Bungie would go. The point of the pass is revenue for them.
-
They should have at leadt had one or two items that could be purchased with event tickets without the upgraded card. If they were smart, it should have been designed so you could buy one item in the set without the upgraded card, but the other items would require the paid card. I think more people would have been compelled to actually purchase the upgraded event card in order to complete the set.
-
Imagine getting tickets by playing and not being able to use said tickets on the things that should be yours but can't because you have to pay them money for the "privilege" of being allowed to use said tickets on the -blam!- that is yours (because you have the tickets for it through hard earned effort and grind) Bungo shills will defend this scummy practice, they always do

16 RespostasThis direction Bungie is taking with Event Pass is concerning. It reminds me of when they first introduced Eververse. Many would say that 'it's just an emote'. Well, we've see it before. And make no mistake, it's only going to get worse. They will continue to push it a little farther every time just to see how much more money they can extort from players, and it's not gonna go away as long as there are ppl willing to throw money at the screen for things like that.
-
6 RespostasWhy on earth would they reward you for not spending money? Lol. Here, for not spending silver we'll give you a currency so you can further avoid spending silver. Makes zero sense. I think what you will see is an ornament tagged onto these passes in the future. I'm not confident this sold particularly well. I at least feel like it was lack luster on offerings.
-
I just look at the tickets as the wrapping of the kindling I'm burning then take whatever's not not nailed down in the card.
-
6 RespostasWhen I see a player with one of those emotes from the pass, I make sure to tbag them

1 ResponderIt's more behavioral manipulation, makes you feel like you're wasting something you've "earned" if you don't buy the pass. And the way you're trying to negotiate tickets having some sort of worth with Bungie shows that it works. Bungie could have just as easily made the tickets something you obtain ONLY if you buy the pass. Look, I'm not going to pretend for a moment that companies don't spend billions trying to figure out how to coerce you into buying their products. I'm just proposing that it's easier to ignore them if you see what they're doing. The tickets never had any value to you, only to Bungie's marketing team.
-
1 ResponderBut the whole point of this to get you justify to yourself spending real money on nothing(cosmetics). Like a casino getting players to use chips, the whole idea is to put a little mental separation between you and your(or your parents) real hard earned money.
-
1 ResponderThey are tickets... TO HELL!!!!
-
All Bungie is gong to do for players that didn't buy the pass is advertise MORE.
-
Bungie has the attitude of Pay Us More or GTFO. So no, they'd never even consider this. Sad but true.
-
So, this isn't me defending the Event Pass or Tickets These tickets aren't meant to be something nice that you're earning while you play the event. They're meant to be a straight up scheme. They're literally made so that once you've earned the free set of glows you say to yourself, "Oh, wow, I already have all these tickets, might as well spend this $10 so they don't go to waste" It's made to entice you to spend money you otherwise wouldn't, not to be nice free stuff
-
4 RespostasDeal. 5 dust per ticket.
-
NO. Don't ask for stuff like this. The system is crap, the entire thing is crap. Too many currencies were in this event. When you ask for QoL improvements that ACCEPT the state of the system, you are telling Bungie that the system is okay and that it only needs some tweaks. This system needs scorched earth. Destroy it. Never should it ever come back.
-
I don't think an advice like this has ever been accepted for the last decade by bungie, you can't possibly believe a shred of chance exist for this
-
2 RespostasI'd rather convert them into the materials in the game than buy cosmetics that are useless in combat
-
1 ResponderEditado por Toots238857: 7/25/2022 2:26:27 PMThey did this on PURPOSE. So you would say "oh well, I may as well buy it". Or whatever would I do with these wasted tickets?? This was their plan. Let's offer them the tickets anyway, even thought the event is "free". Then let's show them the prizes for those tickets, which aren't free. Profit!

3 RespostasThe only thing I dislike about the event pass is the fact there’s a shader behind it. I couldn’t care less about sparrows, ships, ghosts, emotes, ghost projections, transmat effects, blah, blah, blah. I just don’t really like that they are starting to put shaders behind paywalls, as they have, for the most part, been entirely earnable either through gameplay or bright dust in D2. I guess it’s sort of an arbitrary feeling on my part, but I just feel like shaders should never be locked behind a paywall. Other than that, the event pass is functioning nearly exactly as every other Eververse drop—there’s an item here and there that are Silver exclusive, whatever.
-
8 RespostasI reckon they are doing this because inflation is terrible right now and they still want to keep the season passes at 10$.

This is actually a really good idea!
