Posts like this just make me play more often.
Like for real dude. I don’t know how old you are, but we’re not in the stone ages anymore. Gaming has evolved, sustainability is a common practice for live service games, & Destiny 1 is a thing of the past.
It’s time to move on, if you’re this upset with where the game has been heading. Right now, you’re screaming into a void

Wait, so if getting stomped in the face with a boot became more common, you'd just accept that and ask for more when others continue to be upset about getting stomped in the face with a boot? Because that's really what you're sounding like, not only do you accept the shitty moves that are taken by game companies, you're saying that others being upset over them make you want to experience those shitty moves more.

However; I will discuss the point you’re trying to make, which is standing up against corporate greed. To which I say; pick your battles, wisely. We’re talking about an international gaming studio, with millions of actively participating players around the world. We all weigh the value of what we buy differently. You could theoretically sell two different people the same exact white T-shirt. One for $10 and the other for $30. The shirt itself doesn’t have to cost the manufacturer more than $2 to produce. So long as the stitching good, & I get to wear it as much as I want; why should I care what it cost to make? So long as I’m willing to buy that shirt at that price, that’s my choice. And if someone else paid less, that’s none of my business.

That's also an awful comparison. You claim that you don't care what something cost, or how much someone else paid for the item. Yet here you are, literally saying that someone being upset over pricing makes you want to play more. AKA, you really do care what others think, or paid, and someone else being upset over what the items cost them makes you want to give the company more money and attention.

Not because the commenter has issue with the prices specifically. That’s an individual matter. I can’t tell this person what is, or isn’t expensive - since we all value out money differently. What I DO care about is how the game is being described. As though he speaks for all players. DSC is a fantastic raid, but it’s not the only raid. It’s not the only reason any of us login. Hence why I have many reasons to login & play. And seeing posts that assume the structure of millions of players is an arrogant take. It annoyed me, so I said what I said. And now I play more often.

Aside from your comparison not making much sense, he’s saying these post make him want to play more, not the practices OP complaining about. But the reality is basically all the “shitty moves” OP listed have been going on since D1. The fact that people complain about them while blaming F2P is funny enough to make me want to play more too.

Whenever I see people complain about live service games it reminds me of all the complaints 15 years ago about games like Madden and FIFA should charge for roster updates every year.

You’d be shocked to find that the gaming industry isn’t the only place serving you one less olive in your salad. Cutting corners is something we all expect.
And you'll do it all for an extra 3 hours of content
Would you prefer I spend my money on a porterhouse steak? That’ll be delicious & very short lived.

like the other guy said, I am not going to pay modern prices for a game produced with archaic methods.
like the other guy said, I am not going to pay modern prices for a game produced with archaic methods.
Then wait until the content is free or on sale. Definitely play it if you enjoy it, but if you’re someone who doesn’t enjoy the content, or hasn’t enjoyed it in the past; why waste your money & time? Just wait until it’s free/60% off.

It’s kind of hard to sell the idea of “move on, we’re dealing with modern games now”, when the game you’re defending is utilizing network technology from the late 1990s early 2000’s. Almost every other AAA shooter, other than COD(standard), has moved to a dedicated server infrastructure. The only thing “modern” about D2, is its pricing structure. I would argue, that they are far ahead of everyone else in terms of squeezing every last cent out of the consumer, While continuing to release a minimum viable product.
-
And my still runs on a console from 2013… oh wait we aren’t in modern gaming… but that would exclude last gen and make less $

They did upgrade their hardware, & they’re currently staffed well beyond the norm. The tools they have are Efficient. The value of content we get is usaally around the ballpark of 30-100$ with the added bonus of free content over a set amount of time. We easily blow through 100s of dollars on way less valuable things. And I’m not even talking about video games. I mean in general. Money comes and goes but destiny (at the very least) gives you your moneys worth so long as you play what you paid for.
