They should allow us to be able to change our perks on weapons through the gunsmith. Before anyone cries out making the game easier this idea won't take away grinding. In d1 we had gunsmith reputation that was only good till rank 6 when you got the quest to get first curse. After that there was no incentive to keep using the test weapons unless you wanted to challenge the meta. That would be cool if bungie brought test weapons and gunsmith reputation back but this time each rank up unlocks a perk you can put on the weapon. Obviously crappy perks first so that way when you get to rank 50 or 100 you'll be more into the god perks. You could start off by dismantling a weapon, any weapon, which gives you a schematic that you can give to banshee. After that he can build you weapons that he has schematics for which you'll eventually customize them with god perks. Rng can stay in the game too. But I think that would ease the bad luck by a lot without eliminating any grind. Plus it would allow people to delete weapon duplicates since they could just change the perks on one of them.

Nah, rerolls almost killed the game. We tried it in destiny 1. Basically if you can just Reroll until you get a god roll, there's basically no reason to play the game.

The problem with rerolling in d1 was there wasn't any grind. You could just sit there and reroll your weapons until you got what you wanted in minutes. My post didn't suggest going back to that. I mentioned adding some type of leveling system either through the gunsmith or just by picking a weapon up and using it. If you could take a crappy rolled weapon to banshee you could break it down to a very basic gun with a progression system on it. It'll start off at level 1 with only one crappy barrel, no perks or masterworks. Every 5 to 10 levels an extra barrel or perk gets added onto the list to customize the weapon with the crappy perks and barrels first. You can do that with all the weapons. That would still be a grind but it'll be a guaranteed way of getting the God roll than just relying on RNGESUS, that is IF the roll even drops. And rng can stay in the game.

Did it really almost kill the game?
-
Yeah. You don't remember? No need to play once you have all the god rolls.
-
Is the reason to play the game only for chasing god rolls though? Not having fun blasting enemies with your obtained god rolls once you got it?

Didn't get the chance to play one like that. Haven't played 2 in a while. I prefer games where I can play and recieve the rewards then put down somewhat comfortably. Not too much disrespect to destiny 2, but I cannot stand the hamster wheel method they utilize.
