Implement DDOS protection PLEASE
So many times this weekend in trials my internet just magically shuts off... I’m being terrorized frankly with how much it happens. Please help bungie it’s heartbreaking to give it your all and then have a cheater take away what was earned.
Edit: I have quite literally 0 connection issues during the week or ever as a matter of fact. The only time I’ve had issues is playing trials. That is not a coincidence. So you mean to tell me that you seriously think my internet only crashes occasionally on weekends only when we’re winning in trials? Yea no that’s called getting ddos’d

9 RespostasAs others have said Bungie implemented Ddos protection just a few short months ago on Xbox Live, Destiny now runs through the Steam Datagram Relay which is like a VPN for gaming networks. So its sounds more like a you problem, and judging by your aggressive replies you're having trouble accepting that. So here it is: Run some stability tests on your network. Reset your router and I don't just mean turn it off and on, I mean reset the whole thing and set it up again. Don't use Wifi for gaming, ever. Are you using an Xbox One S? (not series S, the older slim one) Call your ISP and tell them you keep getting disconnected, they can check for you and see whats happened. Thats it, thats the advice so take it or leave it and next time you have a problem and come here with it actually try to listen to people and understand that they're trying to help you. Good luck.

3 RespostasYea no I'd say after looking at your games it's just a real bad connection on your part. All your defeats show you ended the match.. I'm guessing you rejoined? That's no ddos that's just bad internet... also your friends back must really hurt lol you may not lose as many games if youd go positive on those losses.

1 ResponderWith a DDOS it's not just your Internet, they are literally Spamming your Router to kingdom kung. Which causes a Big Electrical Shut Down, where everything in your house needs to be Rebooted. Routers today have a Feature where it comes with its own DDOS protection. I recommend getting one. I have one and Never have been DDOSd. NetGear- 99$- 500$ Tenda- 50$ Tenda is cost effective while NetGear I personally like. Tenda has a 4.2 outta 5. So not bad. While NetGear hits near a 4.5. both great products. And if it's not DDOS, and your Internet then you fix 2 problems with 1 stone.

Interesting thought but the matches where you claim to have ddos are all with same team have you ever played with them before? And why is the first match you had with that team a ghost lobby?

I’m sorry that you feel “terrorizzzzed?” but if getting kicked from a match because you might have been ddosed causes that kind of reaction you should stop playing. Actually if that’s the case you should lock your door and hide under a blanket or somthing. Getting ddosed sucks and bungie does a poor job of preventing cheating. But if you can’t accept destiny for the crap it is playing might be beyond you.

21 RespostasPeople dont get what DDOS protection means. As long as the game is P2P you cant stop DDOS attacks, you can implement a recovery like rejoining but that doesn’t matter as they can keep hitting you offz

4 RespostasPlay Trials on Stadia, no cheaters and the hacker's would have a very hard time DDOSing Googles server's. If you still have issues it's definitely a you problem.

CONSOLE SDR – STATUS UPDATE Prior to the release of Season of the Chosen, we announced that distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) protection would be coming to consoles during Season of the Chosen, bringing protections for your network connection against DDoS and IP harvesting attacks via usage of the Steam Datagram Relay (SDR) service. As our Seasonal content went online, we uncovered a few general bugs and crashes which needed to be addressed before we could start bringing this feature forward. As these issues have now been mitigated, our teams have started to bring console SDR services online. This will be a multi-week initiative, as we want to ensure service stability across all platforms while weeding out any bugs or increases in error codes. If any major issues are found during this process, it may take more time for us to bring this fully online, but we’ll be sure to announce when our work is done. Try and see if your router has DDoS protection. This is all the advice I can offer. Not sure if a router’s protection ON TOP OF Bungie’s protection will even be effective, however.
