Being able to spend entire games looking down a sniper scope or running with a shotgun is okay to you? Comp/Trials being a "hide from the sniper" simulator is okay with you?
What does that have to do with special ammo economy, they would do that no matter what, the only way to stop that is do what they did in D1 which ruined crucible or make special ammo decay over time which would suck
The special economy in its current form lets players spend entire games using special weapons and not engaging with primary at all. In Trial/Comp there isn't even a game to be played until the special was used because the capability of one shotting across the map is so supremely powerful that it literally dictates the flow of the game. A single sniper or shotgun or fusion can lock down an entire lane by itself and can only be challenged by another special weapon and entire games, ESPECIALLY in Trials/Comp can turn into sitting in the same spot and peeking with special for 5 minutes, or in some cases 3-peaking with swords and emotes so that you dont even have to interact with an opponent at all. Its not fun, its not interesting, its boring and -blam!-ing aggravating.
In vanilla d2, when there were no special weapons in trials, people would just hard scope lanes with scouts or long range pulses and single out someone to team shot so they can get a pick before pushing the 3v2
It was the exact same thing as right now. Except obviously less fun
I played vanilla. The problem wasn't double primary, it was everything surrounding it. I genuinely believe that if we went back to double primary with the current sandbox things would he -blam!-ing great.
