A younger girl stepped into the bar, clad in a heavy coat, and a face-obscuring hat. She was probably too young to be there, but that hadn’t stopped you before. The girl only took about two steps inside before loudly yelling “Barkeep! I need a table away from the windows!”.

“Alright. There’s one over there.” Blaze points to a corner.
-
Once she hears your voice she slowly, and cautiously, begins walking towards the main counter. Once she gets close she accidentally kicks one of the stools there, and mutters something angrily under her breath. Then she turns to you. “Would you mind walking me over there?”
-
Blaze sighs. “Yeah, sure.” And helps her walk over.
-
Once she’s seated, she talks quieter, staring blankly ahead of her as she speaks. “Is anyone looking at us?”

-
Not a mask; just a hat
“Oh, my hat? Uh, it’s a hat? Does it look nice? I honestly have no idea. Anyway, I was wondering if you could do me a favor. Two, actually. This is going to sound weird, but could you.. Hold out your arm in front of me, and roll up your sleeves if you have any?” From the tone in her voice, she didn’t sound like she wanted to ask whatever she was asking you to do.
-
“Alright I guess........” Blaze rolls up his grey sleeve, and holds his arm out. “I just gotta ask....why?”
-
“Well, that’s where the second favor comes in. Don’t scream?” She asked, before grabbing your arm, and sinking her two sharp fangs into your wrist, and you could feel her sucking the blood from your veins. She didn’t drink long, and when she dropped your arm she looked.. Ashamed. “This is a bar, right? Guess I owe you for the drink. How much?” She asked, pulling out a small coin pouch.
-
Blaze grabs where she bit, stunned for a moment. “I uh...... that’ll be three gold coins. I.... I won’t become a vampire, right?”
-
The girl pulled out the money, and ran the coins through her fingers to double count. She placed them on the table. “For you to become a vampire you’d need to drink my blood, not the other way around.”
-
“Oh thank goodness.” Blaze seems to compose himself at that news. “So, what’s the name?”
-
“Sewn. That’s S-E-W-N, not S-O-O-N. Not that that’s any better; my name’s weird no matter how you spell it..”
-
“Eh, my name’s Blaze, so you don’t have that odd of a name.”
-
“At least Blaze is an actual name. I don’t think Mother even cared what I was called..”
-
“Eh, I think it’s a nice name. Definitely heard weirder to be honest. But weird doesn’t even mean bad so.......yeah.”
-
“Well, if you say so. I’m going to hang out here until the sun goes down if that’s alright. I’m sure I don’t need to explain why. But, I’ve got to ask real quick; my, er, ‘food reserves’ have run dry, and I’ve still got a long road ahead. I’d rather not, y’know, do you know anywhere I could get a refill?” She pulled an empty bottle out of her coat, and held it up, still looking blankly ahead of her. “Voluntarily, I mean. Somewhere I could get some food without having to steal if off of someone.”
-
“I don’t know...... if you’re fine with killing some bandits, they got some blood. But I don’t know if you’d be fine with that, or if they’re close enough.”
-
“Can you not be so loud about the ‘blood’ part? People tend not to react to kindly to learning that. And, yeah, I’d rather not go around killing people, bandits or otherwise.. (What kind of town is this where that’s someone’s first recommendation for anything?)” She says under her breath. “I was more hoping for something along the lines of a blood bank. You know, donated stuff? In particular one that would give some out to people with my ’condition’.”
-
“Hm.... I have no clue, I don’t normally need stuff like that. How long have you been a....... like this.”
-
“I didn’t think so. That’s why I’m heading to Grand Solstice. It’s one of the only places where people like you, and people like me can live side by side without one of us having to hide. Speaking of, I usually stay hidden, but the second I heard your voice I got the feeling I could trust you. I like to think I’m pretty good at that, so please don’t go ruining my record by turning me in or something. Anyway, I’m a pureblood, if that’s what you’re asking. That means I was born like this. If you want a number, 143 years.”
-
“Sorry, I have to take a call.” Blaze turns his hand into a phone shape, and says into it, “Hello sheriff? I gots a.... alright I’ll stop. Anyways, what’s the name!”
-
“Uh.. You already asked that.. It’s Sewn, remember?”
-
shoot I think my brain actually imploded
“Oh right. Anyways, I’m just fine with you because you seem to be nice. You don’t seem to be the murderous vampire type.”
-
“And you don’t seem the hunter type. You can’t really blame someone resorting to killing for survival when not killing means they get killed back.”
-
“See! Good vibes all around!” Blaze starts to smile. “How do you guys age, in terms of human years. You said you’re..... like 140 something, but for a human you seem quite young! So, is there a actual system to calculate it orrr.....?”
