I would always have to make multiple passes and clean it up whenever I logged on. One fateful day in 2009 a user made a thread saying that a dog was on his porch and asking what they should do with it. Well it was a spark igniting a forrest fire. Parody threads filled at least the first 3 pages of the forum. Lots of punishments were handed out and everyone had a laugh. Now every year it makes its return like one of the seasons. In all fairness though The Flood was a pretty fun place. Kitchen 8, porch day, watermelon king, Queen of The Flood, the Flood vs Zanzibar forum war, and a ton of other shenanigans have been had throughout the years. I can still see the spirit living on today with all the newer generations in here.

Loved reading this. I was always curious if mods (I know you don’t speak for all of them) looked at that stuff with an “Aw, shucks. These wacky kids are at their shenanigans again” perspective. Or if it was done with more malice because y’all were just getting tired of our shit. The result was the same. And you guys rightfully issued out the bans as necessary. But it’s nice to know at least one of y’all took it as the (mostly) harmless silliness it was intended to be.

Not too often though.

I won’t lie either. There were times I was amazed the flood still existed the next day. So I can certainly understand your perspective. But glad to have you as a regular old joe schmo like the rest of us. Good to see familiar faces.

This place almost didn’t exist anymore. All in all this site needs a place like this. Away from all the drama of the other forums. I have come to enjoy the neat little family down here.

I definitely couldn’t do it now. I swung the banhammer like Thor swung Mjolnir. I could be very heavy handed and I don’t think that is what they are looking for now.
