Locks have almost nothing going for them in PvP. Don’t get the Top-Tree nerf at all (I notice it).

Editado por Soupreem: 3/12/2020 7:37:13 AMWhy do you think I jumped to Titan? Literally all they have now is Top Dawnblade... Where Icarus Dash is good, the melee is good, and everything else is meme tier. Top Voidwalker didn't really get touched. But all you really have there is some mediocre grenade Regen. Bloom which doesn't do shit for you half the time, arguably the worst super in the game, and chargeable grenades, which are decent for area denial. Bottom Voidwalker is still a sick joke in general, it doesn't do much in either theater of play, maybe keeping you alive in certain PvE scenarios Top Stormcaller is dead with nerf after nerf chipping it down, Bottom Stormcaller is a damn joke, most of it's abilities are just plain bad, and Electrostatic Surge got nerfed. Middle Stormcaller is moderately okay, but the super still lacks usability (visibility wasn't the only issue). Middle Voidwalker got neutered for it's shit super to become more niche than outright shit, but it's still easily among the worst of the worst. Middle Dawnblade is "Defender Titan but shit." And Bottom Dawnblade doesn't exist it's so terrible. And the class ability is still bugged to sometimes not go through.

I'd say for most players, they don't have much going for them if you don't try to abuse some specific build with them, unfortunately. Like Revoker or Eriana's Vow with Empowering Rifts(and pre-rework Sanguine Alchemy), or "Great Value Mercy" using Phoenix Protocol and middle Dawnblade(or god-forbid Chaperone with Lunafactions). Or even the max Intellect build with Geomags, although that requires you to sacrifice other important stats to make it worthwhile(at least by my standards). But top Dawnblade's a great contender once the user learns how to "boost" using Icarus Dash after a Burst Glide(especially if done twice in a row) to get some great speeds, along with having great synergy with Karnstein Armlets. And Bottom Voidwalker may finally have more practical use for soloing a team if the changes are as good in-game as they looked on paper(I haven't tried it out yet, so I could definitely be eating my words). Overall though, I'd say top Storm's still the best pick for the majority of the playerbase if they want the most success on a Warlock.

I like top-tree dawn but you can’t quickswap glitch with that class, so I can’t main it. I don’t have a QD shotty, so Storm is what I have to use.

Editado por DiZ: 3/12/2020 7:01:17 AMAhh, I see. I only have one question...
Where were you during the literal weeks where you could farm not just Mindbender's, not just Spare Rations, but both?! My buds and I would quite literally call them "Sparebender's weeks."
-
I’m extremely lazy lmao. I pretty much skipped all of last season and picked the game up again. I just don’t enjoy farming for god rolls, it’s not fun to me.
-
That's understandable. I don't either in all honesty. I farmed a bit more than I needed to(still never got the "absolute" god roll) just helping some friends to farm theirs, but I got the current MB I use(on my Warlock or Titan if you're curious) from just my second attempt on what I think was the first week Sparebender's as a whole could be farmed during Shadowkeep/Undying. I don't mean to flex, but it did come with the options of Rifled, Full Choke, and even Smoothbore for either the memes or if it somehow ever becomes meta. HOWEVER, I think the new Seraph weapon Shotgun can come with Quickdraw + Vorpal Weapon. If there's a feasible way to farm it, you can kiss every Super that can't block goodbye much more often; even though it's a Lightweight(so shorter ohk range). The Trials Shotty looks good too(same archetype as MB; it can get Quickdraw + Opening Shot), but the main potential downside is that...
they're both Kinetic.
-
Yeah, I saw that with the Trials shotty. A lot of sweats on PS4 are going back to NF since Autos are starting to run the meta and it seems like it can compete the best. I might have to give it a go. I got an opening shot/swash Dire that I was doing well with today. I’m just trying to find something that’s a HC that is more than viable against autos lmao.
-
Editado por DiZ: 3/12/2020 7:47:50 AMI've found the more popular Autos to be harder to play against with most HCs in modes like Clash or Control, but they're pretty manageable in small team modes like Survival; at least on most maps. It's just tough to fight them head-on, since they actually do damage now. Whether that's too much, I'm not sure just yet. But I have quickly learned how to avoid Hardlight ricochets much more often. In regards to NF, I thought the main reason people weren't using it(console-wise) was because it's banned in most tournies/rulesets. Although every now and then, I play against some of those kinds of players, and they pull out all the stops besides outright cheating if they're not stomping(NF, Revoker, pre-nerf Rapid-Fire Snip- I mean glorified Scout Rifles, pre-nerf Erentils with Backup Plan, pre-nerf OEM, etc.). Hell, they'll even emote peek corners. Even though they usually start with Sparebender's or a Waking Vigil with a few thousand kills on them and a "movement" Exotic. Which I find pretty funny. But back to ARs, I think some of the hype may die down once people complete the quest for the catalyst for Tommy's Matchbook. I remember hearing it requires one-hundred AR kills in Crucible.

Editado por RussellMania: 3/12/2020 7:11:15 AMI got a full bore, ricochet, rapid hit, rangefinder SR from a clan engram. 🤣 Never even tried to farm for it.
-
*takes off sunglasses* "Jesus Christ..." This will probably sound strange, but as someone who almost has that exact roll(I have Smallbore, which may arguably be better now), I honestly do not like Rapid Hit aside from shooting AFK people from across the map. It feels like I don't have to move my thumbstick(s) at all. I don't like my recoil changing every shot. I'd much rather Snapshot or Moving Target(so I could spec into Mobility less).

There’s no incentive to play Warlock in PvP. If I wasn’t so attached to the class, I wouldn’t. I certainly wouldn’t advise any new players to start out with it.
-
Gotta agree. Just nothing really going for it currently.
