The question is, how do you continue to make weapons better and what does that even mean? More damage? More range? Faster handling? More perks? More versatility? More fun to use? At some point, it becomes impossible to improve upon any of these things without introducing outliers that break the game. That's what power creep is. Not sure what your definition is tbh. Sure it doesn't feel good to have a preferred weapon left behind but doesn't that create a desire to find something to replace it? If you've been playing D2 long enough you have everything you need to roll any activity put in front of you. We've reached a point where there's no real value in going for new loot at all and that's a big problem.

  • Thanks for contributing. I realize you were trying to be funny but you only exposed yourself instead.

  • If you wanted real answers you wouldn't of wrote such an insulting post... you exposed your character.. I'm sure you can figure out what better guns mean. And ofcourse what I'm saying is power creep. It's a better version of power creep than what bungie is proposing. If you need me to explain how I will but if you want to expose yourself and be insulting... I'm definitely glad to put you in your place little boy

  • Umm what? Nothing I said was insulting until you made your nonsense comment. My original point is that the live forever loot system is not sustainable. New loot is pointless right now because we all have a vault full of god rolled weapons. I highly doubt Bungie will change their mind on this one.

New loot isn't pointless. Imagine your favorite god rolled weapon.. then imagine a cooler version of that weapon that looks better sounds better. It has all your favorite perks but an extra perk and maybe more range and stability.

  • Sounds awesome but how many times can they add that new gun with a cooler new perk? At some point they can’t add that new gun without breaking the game. Not to mention the burden of maintaining everything that still exists.

  • Maybe not a new perk but better stats on new weapons. They can maintain that for a few years until d3. But they are going to retire our weapons and then re-release them as new content. They are doing this with trials of osiris

  • People are already ignoring new loot. You do realize that what they are really talking about is how loot will work in D3 right? They might only have a round or two or retiring weapons in D2 before they move on.

Yeah the new weapons needs to be more desirable instead of retiring our weapons and if d3 is coming so soon then making new weapons have more perks and higher stats isn't such a big deal... but do you understand they are going to just recycle deleted weapons right?

Thanks for contributing. I realize you are just trying to be a dick and it's just sad instead...you act clueless so you get treated accordingly

  • This is it. You are right on it. For all the people that complain about how the loot is stale or there isn’t any new content... the reason it’s so scarce is that the loot pool is BLOATED with stuff no one ever uses and just shards. They still have to test and check all that stuff against new content and that takes time away that they could be designing new stuff. How many ‘god roll’ handcannons do you need sitting in your vault? How many effing handcannons are out there that NOBODY ever uses minus the one or two days of a new content drop to infuse to raise light to the new soft cap? It bogs the system of the game down. I think season of dawn did this exceptionally well... something like 7-8 new weapons that had a new aesthetic and felt different with a couple of new exotics that were also unique. Looking forward to what season of the worthy will bring. Look, I used dreaming city weapons a ton for a long time but haven’t touched one in probably six months. I had a subtle calamity bow that I masterworked early on because it felt so great... don’t remember the last time I used it. If they discontinued them right now I wouldn’t notice... and they could bring a couple out of retirement next time they dropped dreaming city content (maybe an ‘iconic’ tigerspite or something) and it would feel fresh and new because I hadn’t used it in awhile. The Magic analogy Luke Smith used is really good at describing the issue.
