And I saw the usual array of #kwtd #10+clears blah blah.
So I decided to raid report all those people to see who exactly was demanding this.
10 times out of 10, it was people who had virtually no raid clears, a ton of failed raids, and usually didn't have attempts on half of the raids.
The one raid I found that was simply titled "fresh scourge" with a bunch of heart emotes was by a guy who had 400 clears and an 8 minute fastest time along with a 3 man clear and a flawless run of scourge. We finished the run in 38 minutes and I learned a new strat in the process.
Every time I go for a raid LFG I do this and the results are more or less the same. I turned down 4 GoS final boss checkpoints because all 4 of them were "10+ clears kwtd" and literally none of them had ever completed a GoS before. Do these people not get that "Please help this is my first time" would do a lot better than demanding experience? Spoiled brats man, I swear.
Why are the super experienced raiders getting crap from this community for being toxic when it's not them who pull this crap the vast majority of the time? IMHO the truly toxic raid LFGs are from people who have virtually no experience and want a carry, don't get it (because experienced raiders don't join those posts) and then come in here calling us toxic.
This community is so bass ackwards sometimes.

ppl who demand clears on regular stuff are always obnoxious. I get it if it's a triumph run and you wanna pure veterans to get all the triumphs but for a regular raid run it's insane to not accept first timers. Since as i said those ppl who demand clears are obnoxious I always create rooms for guided runs cuz i know none of those guys would join and ever since I enjoyed doing raids. Teaching ppl is not bad at all once you get used to it, sometimes the only problem is ppl who don't ask when they don't understand mechanics after explanation so you have to notice it yourself and go through explanations again. Would love ppl to ask to repeat if they don't get sth, after all there is so many ways to explain stuff to ppl and some ppl need a different way to explain stuff. In short since i started to always do guided runs i pretty much meet only nice ppl and every raid is enjoyable.

I was on The 100 and joined a group to do Sundial Legend. Good group of people, as usual. Completed it. aaaaaaaaand deleted what I'm assuming was my pinnacle gear reward because it was the same crap just with a higher level. Didn't really look. My bad. Meh.

1 ResponderI’ve given up on what I wanted to do concerning raids. I honestly don’t really like them, but I’d like to complete each one once. Did Leviathan. That’s it. Tried EoW back in year one. People quit before we finished it. Tried LW on three separate occasions. Never finished. One session was 7+ hours. Never made it past Riven in any of them. They have become convoluted and as such LFG has become very toxic. It’s either kwtd or hope for a Sherpa that doesn’t mind spending an entire day teaching players as they drop in and out and have to restart the teaching process over and over again and then you likely won’t finish anyway. I just don’t see how raids as an activity, are worth the effort and resources to make for as few people that seem to do then regularly let alone complete them. It seems like they’re insisting on this very specific activity that is nothing like the 99% of the game we played prior to it only for the sake of a small fraction of players. I’m not saying get rid of them completely, but D1 raids were FAR better because players could help and there was clutch moments where the surviving three players saved the day. I wasn’t big on raids in D1 either but they were SO much better. I also don’t see why they can’t have an optional, additional version that is more like The Menagerie or these past seasonal activities and you only get a single reward per week. I’d gladly limit my rewards for the sake of it actually being fun and not some arduous and aggravating process.

5 RespostasI personally ignore all posts that say "have 10+ clears kwtd" even when I have the requirements. Also, another annoyance is when I'm hosting or I'm with a friend who is hosting, and we don't put that you need to know what to do, but we ask everyone before we start, just in case, then we start n there's that one person that doesn't know what to do, but refuses to admit it, then gets called out on it but still refuses to admit it, it's like dude, we don't care, just tell us the truth n we will explain what to do rather than wipe X amount of times in the same spot because you don't want to say I don't know what to do.

2 RespostasEditado por Gemini Trash: 2/18/2020 6:36:17 PMThat's what blueberrys do my dude. They don't want anyone as inexperienced as them, they want to get a carry

2 RespostasLfg using this forum or lfg using discord? Discord is a lot more reliable.

“Kwtd because I have no clue “🤣
-
Perfectly stated. I hadn't given it much thought, but I encounter this all the time. "PoH KWTD" Me: So we gonna glitch us some orbs? Host: Uh, what?
-
i'm looking for a raid team...over 250 raids done in D1; a lot of friends left; lfg really annoying psn semper_o_fi thx
-
2 RespostasI used to raid a bunch. D2 lfg is way too toxic. And, you are correct. There are so many dozens of posts with some iteration of KWTD with most being made by inexperienced players. I just create my own groups and title them "fresh gos" or "fresh scourge". If I want to spice it up, "fresh gos, must have D1 y1 ghally".
-
1 Responderwhat raid did you want to do? I'll raid with you, if you're on psn.

huh, sounds exactly like tinder dates I've been on.

5 RespostasEditado por Abyssoque: 2/18/2020 6:41:48 PMWholeheartedly agree one of the worst things about these raids is that the way buingie has designed this game, players gate off other players because they dont have said items like for example izis for garden. Don't get me wrong izis is great but it should not be nearly REQUIRED nor x amount of raids after 3 I said that's go enough and we all had to do are first clear at some point. The other day I ran an eow, the group was teaching a few so I assisted we got through ph1 but when we got to ph2 it just didn't happen 5 guys each one of us hit at least 1.8mil or over on the boss while some new guy hit only 200k so it ended up being a bust. I explained to the player that you MUST do x amount of damage bungie made it this way and they are to blame no one else. Bungie really needs to find a way to eliminate this gating issue it was present in d1 when ghallahorn was a thing and bungie nerfed that to the point of no return to cease it,maybe its time they do that to izis and others or make all weapons do respectable amount of damage for dps so there is not required weapons just recommended. Ive yet to get izis ive done 6 of the seven raids countless times just have yet to run a GOS do to some of these reasons.

1 ResponderHave you checked Reddit? I met quite a few positive and helpful Sherpa's on r/destinysherpa and always recommend people check that out. Is there any raid in particular you are looking to do? I can see if our clan is looking to run some raids this week.

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

2 RespostasIn my opinion those #kwtd and #1,000,000+clearsONLY posts should be bannable for 1 week. But you'll have crayon-eaters defend them to the death.

7 RespostasEditado por TheArtist: 2/19/2020 6:25:08 AMNot either or. Its both and. You have people who have no experience demanding that others be experienced....so they try hide the fact that they're asking to be carried. But the guy you cited is also unusual. He isn't the typical LFG raider. He's basically a sherpa....which is unfortunately pretty rare these days. Partly the community's fault. MAINLY Bungie's fault for completely changing raid design such that taking even ONE inexperienced or weak player into a raid is to risk the whole raid failing. The reason why first time raiders don't announce their first time status is because NO ONE ----except that sherpa----is going to give them the time of day. So they either try to misrepresent their experience level and go undetected..... ...or they quit trying, come here, and vent their frustration. In my experience, LFG is an unpleasantly transactional place that I don't go looking for players until I have no other option. Because trying to find them is an annoying and tediously time consuming process. Using the API I usually have to try to join 5 to 10 teams before I finally get a reply. And when I create my own team, I often have a couple of false starts before I get a decent player who knows what they're doing. Its like the old work place conundrum. No one will hire you without experience. But you can't get experience if no one will hire you. So raiding is VERY difficult to break into if you don't have a clan that will learn with you....or are lucky enough to find smeone willing to sherpa.

5 RespostasEditado por TheWanderer17: 2/20/2020 12:32:59 AMYeah it's all sorts of wrong, but game design doesn't help. In fact it puts more burden on the player to player interaction and thus this divide persists. Imo after the 4 weeks they really should offer a watered down mode to help players get into it. Easy mode raid should be an introduction to allow players to understand basic mechanics, make sherpa less exhausting, and improve overall engagement. It is overwhelming for any first time raider and the existing system, prevents them from building confidence, offers no way to polish their skills, and as a result creates this type of kwtd/x clears yada yada necessity. Some player may never want to move up to normal as they might feel they are not capable or find the increased stress less than desirable for them. It's certainly better than the broad exclusion and net result of constant community in fighting. Just my thoughts. I dont blame the players. We are all being funneled into this situation through lack of options. There are development solutions out there that other games have leveraged. Side note. I would find an extreme mode fun as well. Make it clear its designed for less than 1% of player base completion rate and I'll be happy to beat my head against that wall. I dont consider flawless an equivalent challenge. It doesnt interest me as it doesnt push the envelope.

9 RespostasBungie could add a raid match making system that matched ppl with, eg; 0-10 clears, 10-20, 20-50, 50-100, 100 plus. Or similar. They haven't and they won't, because A) they're lazy, B) they suck. Lots of other games with multiplayer features have a similar skill match making system.

I learned tonight how to do scourage and crown of sorrows. It’s so far been the best night of my life. Next is garden of salvation and last wish
-
I dont pay much attention to those posts. But live and let live. They are the ones who never get clears.
-
This is why I haven't done GOS yet

2 RespostasExactly why I avoid those posts like the plague and kwtd is the most I'll ever ask for.

I don't use LFG for raids. It is an awful experience for sure. You are 100% correct, most people are asking for carries and have no idea or very little experience in the raids they are asking for help. I don't have a ton of raiding experience myself. I have something like 18 clears on levitation, 2 clears on last wish, 2 clears of SOTP and that is it. However, I joined a raid focused clan and couldn't be happier. They have such a wonderful Discord setup, teachers who have well over 400 to 500 raid clears and a nice way to request raids and get trained through them. Fun group and actually refreshed my interest in Destiny as they are all a blast to play it throughout any of the activities Destiny offers. Find you a good clan.
