I finally decided to do a concussive dampener mod build and see what exactly does this mod do. What i learned is that they seem to stack and each one seems to give roughly a 5% damage reduction for Area of Effect attacks. It does not reduce felt force from stomp mechanics. It does not protect you from your own grenades, only enemy.
In pve this seems to protect from exploder unites such as cursed thrall, grenades such as shock grenades, and some ground pound stomp mechanics. (It doesn't seem to work on bosses but does seem to work for mini bosses) Gambit bosses don't seem to work but menagerie encounter bosses like ogres or knights do.
In pvp, so far seems to only protect from grenades. Rapid DOT grenades like spike or vortex are less affected by concussive dampener. its most effective against explosive grenades such as suppression or fussion and slow DOT grenades like thermite and lightning. I have yet to see if it will reduce rocket, grenade launcher, explosive bullets or melees with AOE such as shoulder charge or explosive knife.
As a side note I wouldn't mind seeing this mod get buffed to reduce the push force from stomp mechanic and reduce damage from boss AOE attacks.
