My mother and I were literally talking about moving to Texas just a bit ago, but now I know we're not wanted!

Any red state will have you if you leave crappy voting habits at the border. We conservatives can be very reasonable. It's reasonable that most of your habits from the old place stay there. You're somewhere new. You know the saying [i]when in Rome[/i]. That's a fair thing to want and it's a fair thing to want in reverse. States are intended to be self contained, of a sort. To take away from each state what makes them unique, blending them to be the same, just doesn't have flair. It's also a bad way to run things. People function best in small groups. States and counties make for good spacers.

I'm not religious. But, hopefully someday you become a statistic of gun ownership. One of the hundreds of thousands who are saved/crime prevented simply because a gun was present. Not even used. Red states are the safest states. You'll appreciate that and see it over time.

Gonna be honest, no idea where in Alaska that is. I haven't been there since I was a tiny child so I don't remember it all too well, except for summer nights when the sun wouldn't set till around midnight and my mom would almost forget to make dinner. I'd love to go back some day

It is great until you get old/older, I have to say that now because certain jack wagons around here took me seriously & got butthurt over me making a joke about my age, but I have noticed this year has been a lot harder on my body, cold wise than it used to be. There comes a certain point where is suddenly becomes hard to warm up. I normally sit around the house in a pair of sleep shorts & a tank. Now I am wearing socks, sweat pants, a tank & a blanket. It is only 68° in here atm.

Yeah, my mother can't stand the cold because of her leg injury, so we're probably gonna end up somewhere it never snows and is so hot and bright I'll feel nauseous twenty four seven.

Ok, that is.... uhm, good I guess? -blam!-, I am not sure what to say, I suck at this shit & I am so far behind on sleep, I can't even string thoughts together right...... Texas is pretty awesome, the cities are a huge mix of everything, it is only when you go to the smaller towns that you see people fall back on the ole religious hatred of all things not printed in the White & Blonde Jesus manual for not going to Hell like them hippies & folk who ain't white & blonde. (Look, for anyone who doesn't understand what I said, I am just saying there are some backwards rednecks in the smaller towns, not condoning their actions) We do have a lot of cool shit, even if you are not into everything, there is a lot of fun to be had here. There are places you can go that have no light pollution. We have a coast & there are parts that have no light pollution. I love sitting on the beach during a full moon, it is about as close to magical as I have ever seen. I could go on, but when summer hits, I am all about the night & not the day. I am not fond of heat & once you get heat exhaustion or heat stroke, it is easier to catch again, so you start hydrating like crazy about February & you do not stop until like November or December.
