I'm doing the luna's quest, having a very hard time getting hand cannon final blows, since almost everyone either uses scouts ( yes it's a primary but I meant it has so much advantage over HCs in 3v3) or just has their special weapon equipped at all times. Shouldn't changes be made to the quest to accommodate for the current meta ?
I have no idea how to make a choice pool so... yeah
Ace of Spades is imo one of the best for finishers. Good range, good damage, fast reload, big mag and the proc is ridiculous especially with the catalyst.

2 RespostasThe meta is not your problem. Not understanding how to fight someone who is using a scout rifle is the problem. You have to know what your weapon's optimum range is. Then try to force people into gun fights AT that distance, and avoid fights where you're outside your weapon's own optimum range. Check out "Crucible Radio" on YouTube. Its a PVP-oriented podcast. I've stopped watching it, but think its still around. There is an episode that I think was the second year of Destiny 1...and one of the guests gave a LOT of good advice on how to use cover and how to manage distance so that you get fights on your terms, and know how to make the best of a bad situation forced on you. The two biggest ideas he talked about were "advance into cover" and "create negative space". Advancing into cover is a valuable skill that lets you move across the map without exposing yourself to fire. I use it ALOT when I'm Invading in Gambit, and you hve to cover large amounts of ground in order to find your targets. Mastering that skill will help you move through scout rifle range and get into hand cannon range while either avoiding detection or exposing yourself to fire. Using negative space helps you deal with shotguns. The distance to know when dealing with shotgunners isn't the range of their weapon. ITS THE AMOUNT OF DISTANCE THEY CAN MOVE IN THE TTK OF WHATEVER WEAPON IS IN THEIR HAND. IOW, the effective range of a shotgun is not just 8 meters. Its 8 meters PLUS the distance that shotgunner can move in 0.8 seconds. If is a corner camper? Not much farther than 8 meters. But if its a Titan skating at you at full tilt with shotgun in hand.....or Voidlock using Blink? That can be a LOT of ground. So you need to get a sense of how fast that opponent can close....and how much of a distance cushion you need to give your weapon the time it needs to kill. If they're already significantly INSIDE of that distance? Disengage and run. If they're well outside of that distance? Fire away. If they're just inside or outside of that distance and the map permits it? BACKPEDAL (create negative space) to SLOW DOWN the speed of their closure to shotgun range, while buying yourself additional time and space to put them down before they do. What can also help you is with a hand cannon is "peeking". Hand cannons do their damage in MUCH larger chunks than do most other primary weapons. So what you can do with hand cannons (good bow players do the same) is peek out of cover....acquire your target....shoot...then duck behind cover. Someone who is using a SR cant' do this. If they disengage, you'll heal faster from the damage done in the exchange than he will....so he's better off disengaging and withdrawing. If he stays and fights, he'll have to stay out in the open, putting himself at a disadvantage. Which allows you to peek again, and put more hand cannon shots downrange.

How often do I use my primary? Like 75% of the time. Ill only whip out my Sniper or Shotty when needed.
-
More often than my shotgun.
-
Way more than I use my special weapon

1 ResponderPeople are lying. They use their secondary 100% of the time and switch to primary when they don’t have ammo. I have way too much anecdotal evidence to be persuaded otherwise.

3 RespostasMy go to loadout is Bygones + Not Forgotten. I hate using any energy weapons, mostly cause I hate ohk cheese.
-
5 RespostasUse Trust.....its the fastest way to get the HC kills. In 6v6 I use a pulse and Not forgotten In 3v3 Comp I use Le Monarque and DRB.
-
Trust hand cannon worked for me to get precision kills, worked like a charm.

1 ResponderEditado por Turlybagle: 12/3/2019 10:50:35 PMCrimson with catalyst & trust worked for me 😊 Now use either revoker or randy’s & NF

1 ResponderOne key is to not stress about it; have fun with it and think of quest steps like that as training. Take your time, pace your shots, and get the precision kills as you get them. Pacing your shots is really important. I also discovered that it was helpful to cause damage to enemies with whatever you feel comfortable with, then swap to your favorite hand cannon to get the precision kill if you can. Don't forget to use any mods you have that assist with HC flinch and targeting. Lastly, if it seems like your teammates are "stealing" a lot of your kills, you might be getting caught in team-firing lanes too much. Try being more aggressive and freelance. Flank more and push the enemy. Timed correctly, it's a strong tactic because a lot of times you catch the enemy with their pants down.

1 ResponderWhy use primary when you can just kill someone with a shot gun and keep picking up special ammo.
-
1 ResponderA lot of time I run double primary's, cause people you rely on specials only to get kills are annoying.
-
2 RespostasPrimary...?
-
1 ResponderWe have primaries in pvp? Nobody told me about this witchcraft!!!

2 RespostasEditado por DiZ: 12/4/2019 9:16:03 AMI still get mostly primary kills, or at least start most kills with my primary. But there are times when you get pushed just a little bit too fast, find yourself around a corner with red nearby on radar, and/or get collapsed on by a swarm of roided out, caped monkeys, armored gorillas with overdeveloped shoulders, and/or unnaturally large flying squirrels in dresses all wielding strange tree trunks in their grasps; a bit too frequently in some cases. It's in those situations that the primary goes away, and the boomstick comes to play.
And there's also the extremely rare instance where your entire team picks up Heavy ammo and dies except you, and now you've just happened to find yourself with a couple hundred shots in a Hammerhead because you forgot to switch off of Machine Gun Scavenger from PvE... *casually sips tea*
2 RespostasUse Crimson like a low range pulse, thank me later. Guns for crazy aim assist
-
4 RespostasBout 90%. Then again my primary is erentil lol
-
1 ResponderAll the..........time.
-
2 Respostasthe meta with HCs are over (on console).
-
1 ResponderHave you tried Thorn?
-
4 Respostas90% of the game. I use my special(shotgun) for defensive purposes. I very rarely rush in.
-
Depends on the map. What mode of pvp I’m playing. Whether I’m want to chill or be a sweat.
-
No? Handcannons sttill hold there own. If you can get yourself Ace/Thorn or a well-rolled Spare Rations you should be straight. Just don’t try to use them outside of their optimal range.
