So I thought I might start an RPG which requires a lot more focus on tactics as opposed to simple superpowers. The participants collectively choose a fleet and army for the campaign, and there will be signups for particular roles. You will be required to work together and see what the others are doing in order to determine your own moves. Also, depending on the fleet and army you choose, enemy forces and battle scenarios will be altered to appropriately challenge you. [b]Positions:[/b] [b]1 Commander:[/b] (position taken) In space, this position commands the main capital ships (Star destroyers, carriers, etc.). On the ground, the commander can participate in the front lines, however he will be required to also lead the bulk of the troops under his command. [b]2 Captains:[/b] (both positions taken) This individual is tasked with carrying out the orders of the commander in an effective manner and providing data as well. In space they command the frigates and corvettes (lancers, CR90s and such), on the ground they have a division of the troops under their control and must make good use of their limited resources. [b]3 Lieutenants:[/b] Lieutenants lead starfighters in the space battles while also leading any specialized units on the ground (clones special forces, snipers, armor etc.). Lieutenants are the most flexible of the positions, however they have the least amount of troops. They and their assets are very valuable and they often make or break certain moves. [b]Fleets:[/b] [b]Fleet #1:[/b] 3 Resurgent Star Destroyers, 12 Lancer Frigates, 16 CR90 corvettes, 6 starfighter wings. This fleet is the most flexible of the 3 options, a great balance of offensive firepower and defensive durability. [b]Fleet #2:[/b] 4 Imperial-2 Star Destroyers, 3 Endurance Class Fleet carriers, 18 Lancer Frigates, 22 CR90 Corvettes, 13 star fighter wings. Don’t let the numbers make you think you can bust through anything, while the ISD has great firepower, you’re going to have to utilize your vast array of fighters and smaller capital ships to protect the destroyers! However, offense is still a capability with your large number of fighters. [b]Fleet #3:[/b] 1 Executor Super Star Destroyer, 2 Imperial-2 Star Destroyers, 10 Lancer Frigates, 12 CR90 corvettes, and 4 star fighter wings. This fleet is almost entirely optimized for offense, despite the behemoth that is the Executor, you must punch through enemy forces. The large capital ships will play the biggest role in this fleet and the defenses must have excellent coordination. [b]Armies:[/b] [b]Army #1:[/b] 10,000 Stormtroopers, 3 ATATs, 10 ATSTs, 8 infantry tanks, 15 speeders and 2 platoons of Clones (special forces). This army allows for a lot of creativity in its use. Choosing this will make your campaign an assault on a heavily fortified capital city. Use your diverse set of vehicles to help in the city’s capture. [b]Army #2:[/b] 8,000 Stormtroopers, 200 heavy blaster turrets, 350 land mines, a squadron of star fighters for air support, 2 sniper platoons. This choice will test your knowledge of siege warfare, you must defend a vital base to prevent the recapture of the capital city. This choice will also allow you to plan where to place your defenses ahead of the battle. [b]Army #3:[/b] 13,000 Stormtroopers, 5 ATATs, 14 ATSTs, 11 infantry tanks, 22 speeders, 2 Clone platoons, 2 heavy infantry platoons. This option will see you tasked with capturing both a weapons factory and a heavily fortified military base. You have many resources at your disposal, but your enemies are hunkered down and waiting for you. That’s about it, I may ask for character gear and such but I haven’t made up my mind about that just yet. EDIT: SIGNUPS ARE CLOSED. I may have a second session depending on how this goes.
