D1's loot system was just like D2's. Pretty much everything was RNG, the only exceptions being quest-based rewards. We still find engrams out in the wild and dismantle almost everything we get. We still turn in materials to vendors and most of the gear said vendors sell is still crap. Strike loot drop rates are still crap. Nothing about D1's loot system was inherently "better" than D2's. A lot of the loot itself was better in D1, or at least looked better, but the system for delivering the loot hasn't changed.

Yeah, taking away factions completely has to be the dumbest move I've ever seen in this game. I called it since day 1 when I saw "Faction Rallies" were going to be a limited time event? Really? Yeah this is not going to last long I said to myself. Present day: where is our Factions? They should have never changed the way these factions interact with the players in the game. They play a huge part on which Faction you want to choose and represent.. I truly miss representing New Monarchy.

All we've gotten from Bungie for about a year now is... "We're still evaluating this" Yeah, it takes any company in this entire world this long knowing it is literally one of the easiest things to add back in this game and should have been brought back at least 6 months ago. It goes a lot further with gear that is missing or blocked from using like the collection.

Having the factions in the game the way they should've been just gives us players more things to do. I enjoyed grinding New Monarchy at anytime I pleased in D1. Heck, all of the factions had great weapons and armor. This needs to return in a proper way.

Yeah, as you said, using Factions as a timed event was a not a good idea at all. How they were set up in D1 there was nothing wrong with that. All they had to do is just improve what they've learned from D1. I don't get how Bungie doesn't grasp that concept with most things in D2.
