What do you mean RoI wasn't game-changing? It set the standard for what raid weapons should be and it made strikes interesting with Skeleton keys and strike loot chests. And also, it had arguably the coolest ending of a story we've seen in Destiny. That feeling when you picked the fire axe up, charged it with fire, and slammed it down on one of the bosses was dope. Wasn't there for HoW times, but even doing Skolas during Y3 was a blast.

LOL what! ROI raid weapons are objectively inferior to VOG weapons and it was never close to debatable. The pulse was the best weapon by an enormous margin. HC was average at best, auto was average, scout was good but not BiS.
-
So you missed Vault of Glass, which set a standard so high until last wish, destiny as a franchise never came close to. Vault of glass weapons and armor were all amazing. Wrath of the machines was a terrible raid. The weapons were mediocre at best.
-
Editado por MetalCanine5460: 3/7/2019 7:26:26 PMI wouldn't say wrath set the standard for best weapons. All the raids (except King's fall) have both good and bad guns. Fatebringer is the best weapon from Vog Imo, but Praedyth's Timepeice was pretty bad for example. I agree with you on the strikes though. Skeleton keys made it much easier to farm for god rolls.
-
Whoa, don't sleep on King's Fall weapons. The "cocoon" perk is one of the best perks ever introduced. Sure, they all looked stupid, but Quillum's, Smite, and the sniper were all good weapons.
-
Cocoon is a worse version of auto loading holster. It takes five seconds to activate while the d2 version of the perk only takes 3 or less. Their stats are also average to bad.
-
Time piece was amazing. It was the original grasp. That weapon absolutely shredded. It’s problem was it was arc and if you had fatebringer there was no need to use anything else.
-
VOG set the standard for what raid weapons should be.
-
I miss my fatebringer :( best handcannon for PVE in my opinion, I was gutted when it became useless by year 3 :( a long with many other weapons from CE and VoG :'( nostalgia!
-
Agreed, I look back to Vanilla D1 with great nostalgia as well! Got the curated nation of beasts recently and it's the D2 iteration of fatebringer and feels pretty good to play with. Here's hoping to some cool gear from the upcoming seasons of D2.
-
Vault set the bar for BEST weapons, where wrath set the bar for good, but more balanced weapons.
-
Editado por ALBOBOSS: 3/7/2019 6:11:22 PMVault weapons were not unbalanced save for 1st iteration of the vex. Even the vex was nerfed mainly for PvP balance because it was too strong.
-
Editado por Dragunov1987: 3/7/2019 6:40:22 PMTo be fair, Both VoG and WotM set standards. VoG brought "only" the best Handcannon, Scout, Shotgun and "accuracy" Sniper PvE-wise. WotM brought forth the best Pulse, best damage-dealing scout, Auto rifle and damage-dealing non-exotic sniper (yeah, Black hammer was the best dps sniper ever, but everyone knew it would be turned into an exotic). WotM, however, also brought one of the best armor pieces ever: the raid gauntlets. You could, literally, spam heavy ammo on the raid thanks to it's perk. Edit: Vex was WAY overnerfed. The ruined the weapon.
-
Yea, I meant setting the standard for good raid weapons in general, but you could also break it down on individual weapons as you did I suppose. Agreed on the vex, the first nerf it received was more than enough. After the 4th, it became complete crap. I'd have preferred they removed it all together than see it nerfed to that degree.
-
You can guess how "happy" I was to get mine after the release of RoI (yeah, took that long), only for 3 weeks later they introduce Age of Triumph and I have to run after the "updated" version all over again...
-
That sucks man. It was glorious in 2014. I'd usually run it or pocket infinity in the crucible.
-
I used in on a friend's acocunt. The thing was a beast. Pocket infinity was also a really cool gun that never was updated, sadly.
-
It set the standard for what raid weapons should
Actually, VoG was, but that Bungie blew their load right out of the gate. It took until RoI to have "endgame" weapons that were actually good again. The other raids/end game maybe had like 2 weapons good each..
-
All ya'll saying VoG only because nostalgia got you by the balls. Wrath weapons were much better, because they A: Looked unique, like raid weapons should, and B: Had some pretty unique perks for the time. VoG weapon perks weren't mind blowing. I'd take Chaos Dogma over Vision of Confluence any day, personally.
-
All ya'll saying VoG only because nostalgia got you by the balls.
No, they werent. First of all VoG Primary weapons had burns because that used to be a thing. Even without them people chased them down. Do you not remember how many people were farming Imago Loops religiously to get a "fatebringer roll" pretty much up until Age of Triumph when they re released the VoG weapons with year 3 Light Level? Atheon's epilogue - ahead of its time for bullet hose archetype, but stable AF and heavily utilized for non void subclasses for thorn quest. Also ate Minotaur shields alive. Preadyths revenge - top tier sniper for pvp before the high impact body shots were the norm Corrective measure - essentially infinite ammo, one of the driving factors in Heavy ammo economy changes in PvP Vision of confluence - PvE workhorse and solid contender in PvP. Stable AF and before they gutted field scout had like 20+ ammo making it essentially a slow rpm auto rifle that could map you Found verdict - shotgun with stupid range Fatebringer - absolute monster, point shoot, target dead along with all of its friends - aim for head and reloading was instant Praetorian foil - 1 shot Minotaur buster and overall -blam!- you if you were it in its bolt path. Preadyth's timepiece - pvp monster - the OG Grasp of Malok/Clever dragon. Hezen Vengence - Budget Ghally with its cluster bombs Don't get me wrong; WotM weapons were fantastic in their own right, they set the new bar after the past few raids, but that was after the majority of sandbox changes came into play. VoG weapons - out of the gate were almost perfect at the time of release, and survived the test of time when re released in AoT.

Editado por MetalCanine5460: 3/10/2019 7:28:15 PMVoc had a mag size of 19 at base, 27 with field scout. Same went for any scout that had a base mag size of 19. Corrective measure could go up to 100 per mag from 58 with field scout.
-
Editado por Swift: 3/11/2019 11:06:59 AMThank's for the numbers, but realistically, before they nerfed Field Scout - if you weren't using field scout pre-nerf you were doing it wrong lol. That was arguably as much as a "god roll" back then as seeing the outlaw + rampage/kill clip is now
-
And while Vex was way stronger when it first came out, I think the quest you went on for Outbreak Prime makes it more interesting than Vex Mythoclast was, which you just had to pray dropped for you in hard mode.
-
you forgot that the bosses were the iron lords. What a twist.
