This is a fallacy. Leaving once you have item "x, y, z" is pointless... Why would you leave once you have something that's going to make playing the game interesting/exciting after the big stale patch you've gone through? I still don't have Shards or Geomags... I barely play anymore because I [i]can't[/i] get these things to drop. I barely play anymore because I constantly can't get certain items to drop [i]because[/i] of RNG. This idea that people will stop playing once they finally get gear is bullshit.

The OP mentioned 3 items they are desperate enough to quit the game over. 2 of them are ships...probably for a title. The ships and titles add NOTHING, as in zero, nada to your gameplay experience other than feeling fancy or that you’re better than others. I’ll toss him the 1k voices. That could be frustrating, sure. But again, is that one gun going to change his whole gameplay experience to the point he’ll enjoy it? I don’t personally have it, but I’ll wager it won’t. In your case, you want Geomags and Shards. They’re nice, but you want to quit because you don’t have them? In that case I have to take the position that you don’t truly enjoy the game for the gameplay and you’re just chasing carrots. In my case, I play this game for the gameplay and experience. Any loot I get is nice. Sure I played almost 180 games of Gambit before I got the meatball to spawn, I got frustrated too. But I still enjoyed the gameplay, so I just took a break from playing Gambit. I sure didn’t throw my controller and quit the game lol. No one should be blaming anyone if they want to quit the game. It’s cool if you want to quit. Not every game is for everyone. But it sure does get a little tiring for those of us who enjoy the game to put up with 3238374 posts a day about how “this game sucks because I didn’t get the item I want so desperately so I’m quitting and FU Bungie”

Let's see if I can explain it to you in a way that you might try to see it from a different perspective. I am a Beta/Day 1 D1 player who bought the $300 Ghost Edition as well as a digital copy. All DLC'S 2200+hrs in D1. Grinded for every exotic. Did every activity. All the same as above for D2 except... 850+hrs in D2 Grinded for months without a single exotic or cosmetic drop because of bad RNG. Done everything except for Spire of Stars (Cbf). I don't consider myself "hardcore" but I also don't consider myself "casual" either, but D2 has lost me... And many many others like me because of the direction they've taken, and their lack of willingness to listen to the people who I feel make up the majority of their target demographic. What gives you enjoyment from this game is, and can be vastly different from other people. For some people earning titles is important to them because they're completionist. Some people want to collect everything. Some people just like shooting stuff. Each person plays the way they want for their own reasons, and when some of those reasons are hindered by unforgiving RNG, it's a problem for [u][b]them[/b][/u]. Just because you don't see the value in something doesn't mean no-one else should... Right? There's only so much of doing something over and over and over again you can do before it becomes boring, so... You look to what else there is to do... Titles? Sure! So, you start working on that until you get to the point of frustration when week after week, month after month, you can't acquire what you're working towards without success because you're only given a chance... Rather than being rewarded for your time. I've supported this franchise since before Day 1. Supported it financially and by spending time in game and by "defending" it right here on these forums. Hey thanks for explaining your thoughts. Nowhere was I name calling...let’s put on our big boy pants for minute huh? The “snowflake” comment had to do with the fact that you were making blanket statement and saying you didn’t need to explain your reasoning. You are perfectly within your rights to hate the game, quit, keep playing, whatever. I’ve never said differently. Not every game is for every person. My point is still that a specific gun or title doesn’t change the game to point that makes it or breaks it. That’s my opinion and I’ll stick by that. If you don’t enjoy the gameplay on its own enough for that to be the reason you continue playing...then maybe it is time for you to look elsewhere. But changing the RNG isn’t going to make you like the game any better. It’ll just get you things earlier and then you’ll start complaining about something else. Also who cares if “every comment is in the same vein” as yours? I don’t care if I have an unpopular opinion. It’s still my opinion and as valid as yours and the rest of the forum sheep. You yourself mentioned different people enjoy different things about the game.

Yet you seem to not want to accept how other people see the game, and why they're asking for change. I understand where you're coming from, I really do. Destiny has the best gunplay in any game. No other game currently comes close. It's extremely fun just shooting shit. But this game isn't just about shooting shit... Something you refuse to acknowledge. Destiny Tracker has the following stats for yesterday. 533.5K Crucible Players 617.1K PvE Players I can verify 10 from each pool are the same players - members from my clan that ran crimson doubles and SoTP. While I do not know a website or way to pull stats based on unique accounts, I would guess at the most only half of the PVP count are unique accounts. Honestly, it is probably not close to that many, so yesterday unique player populate was probably 883.85k at the most. It is more likely that the unique account population was actually closer to the total PVP population.
