Here’s why: it’s murder. You are taking a life which God made and they are prevented from choosing Him as a result.
English
-
So say your wife was pregnant, but proceeding with the pregnancy would result in the death of the child and your wife.
-
I can understand it in that case as you would be attempting to save a life. If inaction would result in both lives being taken I can understand it then.
-
Abortions are, overwhelmingly, undertaken for reasons as grave as that scenario. I guarantee you those activists shrieking "Murderer", much like you, at women have done so to people who had to make that unenviable call. One that will haunt them to their grave. At least the Westboro Baptists are con artists.
-
Abortion shouldn’t be taken lightly. I don’t blame those activists.
-
We dont over here, I can tell you that much.
-
Because I believe some random on the internet.
-
https://abort67.co.uk/facts/uk_abortion_statistics Rule of thumb is Abortions take place here overwhelmingly when someones actual wellbeing is at risk. Socio-economic reasons? Not so much.
-
The statistics tell a different story. In the last 10 years just 16 abortions have been carried out under grounds F or G. As a side note, we have not yet found a medical reason why a woman would need an abortion to save her life.
Bad source bro
-
Overwhelmingly carried out under ground C, which is fairly vague but still involves risk of physical harm.
-
It says those are more for societal reasons. Look, all I know is if my parents were pro-abortion I wouldn’t take care of them later in life.
-
I certainly dont think it should be used as an alternative to condoms, but it certainly has a place.
-
Abortions are, overwhelmingly, undertaken for reasons as grave as that scenario.
https://abort73.com/abortion_facts/us_abortion_statistics/ I’ll just leave this here....
-
I guess I made the fatal error of assuming the UK stats were comparable to the US.
-
The difference between that and most scenarios is that the life of the baby in that case is forfeit. Either way it is dead, but the vast majority of cases it isn’t. In those which the child and mother can live, I consider it murder.
-
If you want it gone for good, the US will need far better Sex Ed than it has now, coupled with better fostering services. In the meantime, I'd be very careful of throwing out blanket accusations. You dont know who will read them or what they've been through.
-
Elaborate on better sex Ed.
-
Maybe a documentary of my wifes 2nd pregnancy. That put me off having any more children...!
-
C-section?
-
Both were. First was emergency c-sec because the umbilical cord got wrapped around his neck. Second one involved many hospital trips due to pain, then he almost came prematurely, then her waters broke and he still didnt come, then he was finally c-sec'd after she was in labour for 48 hours but he wouldnt come out. There were post-birth complications too, but he came through everything to be perfectly healthy. That was a seriously stressful year though. Yeesh.
-
I’m really sorry about that man, glad you got through it.
-
I’m not accusing anyone of anything. Also, I’ve advocated for better sex ed, teaching kids to abstain, but that’s besides the point.
-
I’m not accusing anyone of anything.
That has earned you my most skeptical raised eyebrow. *raises eyebrow skeptically*
-
You can be skeptical, I never accused anyone. I just said if the child can be saved without the mother’s life being at risk then it should be saved.
-
Not what you said initially bub. Not even close.
-
Ok, what did I say?
