Throw the ball at a teammate.
Stop chucking the damn thing at the boss before it's charged, it's just a waste of time.
And if I emote at you 6 times in a row, it's not because I want to dance it's because I want you to look at me.
Thanks.
EDIT: To the people in the comments saying you didn't know, or how could you know, etc...
This wasn't really a post explaining what to do. It was more of a rage post. Didn't actually expect this to get so much traction overnight but at least people who didn't know do now.
But the way you were supposed to know how the relic works was the The Corrupted Strike. The mission takes like a minute worth of screen-blocking tutorials to teach you how the new system works.
In fact it's almost necessary to properly use the relic to break the shields of the various enemies in the strike--including the boss. I'd imagine most of you who read this and said you didn't know played the strike, so you can imagine my frustration when people ignore the tutorial then proceed to go around tossing uncharged balls in the blind well. The Well is a hassle as it is, we've been doing it for months already. It's kinda annoying when you choose to ignore instructions and then slow things down for everyone else.
EDIT#2: To the people who are saying "Nick you're being overdramatic, it doesn't take much longer if you don't charge the balls". You're right, it shouldn't. I had an isolated instance where several randoms, who will stay unnamed for the sake of the post, somehow knew the spawn locations of the balls, but not how to throw them at the boss. The shield wasn't broken until a minute left on the clock, after 4 consecutive waves of balls spawns. That's 12 balls missed on the boss, who is very large and somehow very evasive. I understand that won't happen every single time, but if you can tell me with a straight face you wouldn't even be a little mad, you're not human.

I don’t throw the balls at other guardians because they always waste them but I do throw them at the boss to get the shield down so what’s the problem.
-
Not a huge deal haha. Theyre probably used to running with potatoes and have started just quick pegging the balls at the boss from both spawns to not have teammates mess it up when you try to pass to then and they look away.
-
I saw you emoting at me, but the Hold E to fist bump didn't show up :(

3 RespostasIs blind well still in archon/court pf orxy mode? I.e impossible to random queue for.

I notice this post is getting a lot of backlash, but hear me out. Yea maybe he couldve been a bit more humble about it. Yea we get it get outta your feelings i read it and even if wqs against it i wouldn't be offended by it. But he's right. Blind well and the corrupted strike have been out for months and I know most of you guys have played these encounters numerous times. The people talking about how "Oh well does it really matter?" Okay well then say that when the timer in BW hits 0 because orbs werent used properly and then you gotta go through the whole thing all over again. Its a waste of time. I notice people legit dont pay attention to encounters or instructions. If youre shooting a boss blindy and see other people not aiding you in that, that should be a hint for u to tell yourself, "Alright...hes runnin around doin something else...but the boss is here...lemme see whats up." 9 times outta 10 people aint just runnin around aimlessly when theres a boss to kill. Ever do a raid(surprisingly not many)? The final boss is sittin right there. OHHH RIGHT MECHANICS. I CAN'T DAMAGE THE BOSS YET SILLY ME! Use your brain guys. Im serious I love aiding people in anything(plus how good does it feel when u join as a 650 among a bunch of 500+ for a leviathan just to hear them be in awe with you? Lmao), but a lot of people simply do not pay attention. And while im on the topic of people not paying attention.... For the love of god if you see something youre doing isn't working out, you need to change your tactics. I swear last night i was doing a sotp phase 2(beat it btw but last week) and one guy, ONE HIGH 640+ GUY just kept dying in the safest area of the map. I dont understand why people die, act all surprised and go "Oh My GoD hOw DiD i DiE??," and then do the same mistske again. Destiny is a game about making mistakes and learning from them if you are capable(as in maybe its not light level advantage but your own gameplay). If you see something isnt right then change it up. Everyone was new to Destiny 2 at one point. They eventually learned. Us vanilla Destiny 2 players who still stick around for even things like Black Armory and beyond? We were noobs too. But now we practically know every encounter, every mechanic, both inside a raid or outside a raid. Even back to this orb and Blind Well stuff. You wanna get something done, you gotta do it yourself. I honestly had to look up every heroic event how to, every raid mechanic, every exotic quest steps, and etc. If you really wanna do or learn something, youll go out and try to learn it. If you get hate mail after a pub event, laugh it off, find out what you did wrong, and learn. Youre the noob they're not. And not everyone has time to mess around with you when youre uneducated and theyre practically wiht a Doctor's degree in destiny 2.

1 ResponderSince you brought it up, you all can charge the flame cannons as well by holding the trigger when you fire. It will charge and click, then again. When you release it does a lot more damage. You can also melee while charging. Definitely not as critical to gameplay as knowing the ball charge, but a PSA for those who didn't know.

*clears throat* Guy who has cleared both BW and the Corrupted a bunch of times; I totally forgot this. Most people I play with in BW don't know (and it doesn't matter because with a decent team, it's a cakewalk), and in the Corrupted you can be so far from your teammates that you don't see what happens. Thanks for the reminder on this, because it sped my BW runs up slightly, and made me feel less nooby. In general though, it's easy to miss this mechanic.

Ironically the Corrupted strike came up last night and fore-armed I both picked up the orb to pass to another and made myself available to receive one during final encounter, and it went much smoother than I recall previous ones doing. Don't think I can re-iterate enough that this info needs to be made more known amongst the playerbase. A message that pops up on screen only when you first pick up the orb for an unknown amount of time when lots of stuff is going on around you and then never again is clearly insufficient. 2/10 for delivery 10/10 for PSA content

I do sort of feel your pain, had to throw 3 all by myself whilst randoms were laying down barricades and rifts in front of an immune ogre 😂 think they were expecting some harmony dudes to come wandering out 😂 to be fair first time I did it I was the same, one failure and a quick google sorted that though

7 RespostasI actually get more upset with the tossers in the forums that don't understand they are playing a game and that its not life or death, so what if it takes 5 mins and not 5 secs, if your time is that valuable you shouldn't be playing anyway. There will always be different levels of skill and understanding when dealing with people in video games, frankly if people cant handle that there are plenty of SP games out there. Perhaps post a tutorial instead of a whinge-athon, more flies with honey etc.

I did the corrupted strike the other day. When I passed a charged orb to a team mate he literally didn't know what to do with it lol.
-
I 100% promise and swear to you that this mechanic was NEVER explained to me. I have done the corrupted strike dozens times, and not one single time was the ball passing mechanic laid out. From the start of Forsaken, yesterday was the first time I ever heard of this while helping my wife and a clan member do the Malfeasance version of the strike. They even told me that the mechanic was explained the first time you do it, but I would remember something like that. FFS, half the time the people in your strike team get completely different dialogue or none at all, is it really so hard to believe that the mechanic just doesn't get explained to some people?

7 RespostasI hate hearing the "I didn't know" excuse. Are my husband and I the only ones who look up how to do something properly or even ask before we go into something? We all have phones and/or access to the Internet. I can't tell you how FRUSTRATING it is to do the Corrupted Strike with a blueberry. 99% of the time, you throw the ball at them and they just drop it or run around in a circle with it. We have had the same exact expierence in Blinding Well. Literally, it will take you all of 5 minutes or less to look something up before diving in blind. Or, if you don't know how to do something, simply observe what everyone else is going and go with it. We live in the era of information and it is all right there and available to you. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE look up how to do something before diving in. You will make the experience better for yourself and everybody around you. Also, kind of off topic, but still relative. LEARN HOW TO HEROIC A PUBLIC EVENT instead of ruining it for everybody else. Again, all this information is readily available if you take a minute to look for it. Thank you.

1 ResponderI understand your frustration, but in my humble opinion, does it matter all too much? It may require 1 or 2 extra balls, but it’ll still down the shield eventually.
-
6 RespostasMost people are stupid, accept it. That's why I hate raids, 6 not-complete-idiot players is too much

1 ResponderEditado por TheWagn: 12/17/2018 8:45:07 PMI THOUGHT THAT'S WHAT IT DID Passing the relic charges it....it all makes sense now. Wow I'm stupid. I was like 90% sure that was the case but wasn't totally sure. Thank you for this post. In all my runs of activities with relics nobody ever told me or seemed to know. bump for knowledge.
-
2 RespostasIs it really that more difficult without passing it though? I mean honestly, it may take an extra 5-10 seconds. With all that's "wrong" with this game this is a weird thing to be upset over.
-
I stand at the Orbs and throw them to people walking towards me to pick them up. Just pick the up first and let someone else throw them.
-
It is shocking that this late in the expansion that I am usually the only one who even throws the orbs to break the shield, let alone where to get them. So no.....i wont be passing them to anyone.
-
Emote me 6 times and I'll chuck it at you and then grab my popcorn.
-
I was running a few wells last night and there was 7 people in there.... None of them seemed to know about getting the balls let alone charging them! They were all using supers and heavy on the boss trying to get the shield down :(
-
I’m shocked at the number of people that didn’t know about this mechanic
-
2 RespostasMy understanding is that you can technically still throw the charge directly, without passing it to another guardian and it will work. It's just significantly less effective and will cause you to have to get more charges from the other side. The same is true for the strike. I did it that way the 1st time before I knew better. True?
-
Wow, I am one of those idiots. Honestly never knew. I don't think I have ever done the corrupted strike either. I have to apologize for my ignorance. I can imagine the people I was doing blind well with screaming at me, though I only picked up the orb once.
-
11 RespostasSo thats how you drop his shield Never knew, it just somehow always ended up gone and then next thing i knew the boss was dead
-
Correction, throw it at someone who is asking for it. If they arent paying attention or you blindly throw it at them, they will immediately accidentally throw it, or it will blow up on them.
