Destiny 1 and 2 fan here. Played the first one for a very long time.....on 2 consoles. Most frustrating part of the new nightfall is the timer. I have no issue with the skill level, but just throwing more variables to make it harder has made me want to do the nightfall only once.
I used to do it every week, on all 3 characters.
If my fireteam dies, that's on us. But we have lives outside of destiny too. I don't want to have to keep running the nightfall only to get to the boss with not enough time to complete.
Please change this.
Thank you.

2 RespostasI think a compromise should be the normal nightfall has no timer but the prestige one does.

4 RespostasEditado por james: 12/6/2017 2:16:04 PMHow about this? instead of the timer counting down it counts up the faster you are the better the prize. for example less then 14 mins 1 x Exotic + 1 powerful + 1 legendary 15-29 mins 1 powerful + 2 legendary + 50% chance of Exotic 30-44 mins 1 powerful + 1 legendary + 25% chance of Exotic over 45 mins 1 powerful + 1 legendary or instead of kicking us back to orbit after the time runs out let us finish, but reduce your reward e.g. you do not get your nightfall engram from hawthorn and just get 1 x 300 light legendary for finishing. That way we can practice on getting faster but can not farm engram's. This one would be easer to put in place and a possibility to please everyone.

1 ResponderHaving a life outside of Destiny is great, but if you don't have the time, don't run it. I remember NFs in D1 which were more diverse in modifiers for sure but basically were just a series of chokepoints to camp back and pick off enemies for as long as you need to before you've killed the named enemy to move on. Knowing where to direct your efforts (saving supers/heavies/abilities) and time adds an extra dimension in my opinion. Rather than just popping heavy ammo synths and grinding through the chokepoints. My clan also has a weekly comp for the fastest NF and PNF time which, if you have the right community, adds another degree of accomplishment or 'reward' as thats what everyone appears to go on about on every other post.

Haven't played d2 in weeks jumped on ran the nightfall casually last night finished with over 6 mins left are you trying to do it solo or not running an optimal loadout normal is pretty damn relaxed and not hard at all with 3 people.

Timers should be for bonus objectives only. Not - Too bad, you get nothing for your time. I like killing everything, but your forced to experience as little of the game as possible. That's just not good design IMO.
-
Nah, it's best to just move on. Destiny will never be the game we were shown in 2013.

If you cant compleate the nightfall in time then try again my dear because you aint doing thing right , this game is insanely to easy

Yes please!!!
I couldn't agree more with you, timers were a terrible idea forNightfall strikes, and still they did it, they don't seem to care about player feedback and they don't seem to solve problems that people are pointing since launch, they really don't learn
-
I couldn't agree more !
-
So...
Nerf shoulder charge?
I agree, timer is not fun at all. My friends and I have agreed to give up on NF! May return when they get rid of the damn timer
-
I agree. I don't think the timer does the content any good either. All people do is rush past everything and leave deadly enemies alive. I've done it and gotten left behind countless times to die to a horde of enemies that one guy slips past so that he can abuse the respawn mechanic and warp me to the boss room. I don't want to play that way and I don't think it was intended either.

While I wouldn't agree to remove them completely, I agree that every week having a timer is frustratingly monotonous, and has led to me not bothering with the nightfall. To me it's simply a lazy way to make an activity harder. No effort to put into the activity, just slap a timer on it and it's suddenly a harder activity. Yes, it is but remove the timer and it's suddenly not very difficult at all. That is not good. My other main complaint with the timer system is that it essentially legitimises the "rushing through a strike" approach that has plagued Destiny since D1 released. How many times have we gone through a strike with randoms and suddenly found it turned into a competition over who can get to the boss the fastest? Please, no one argue that I should "get gud" or "join a clan" as I have been able to solo Y1 nightfalls, have never been involved in any clan where there was someone on at every moment of the day. I don't have a working solution for Bungie. However, why not have some of the old modifiers back to add some spice into the equation? Ultimately, what's the point in the Nightfall at the moment? The rewards can be found ridiculously easily elsewhere in the game.
-
2 RespostasI like the timer. Its a challenge and not a easy mode.
-
Timer still on Nightfall that is sad so Bungie didn’t listen to us

4 Respostas
I don't want to have to keep running the nightfall only to get to the boss with not enough time to complete.
Try harder, git gud. If I've been able to complete timed nightfalls with sub 280 light RANDOMS that have NO MICS (i.e. the worst possible NF fireteam setup imaginable) then there really is no excuse for you, other than simply being bad at the game
-
I like them.

3 RespostasTo me, there isnt any time to enjoy the nightfal or explore the strike a little. It's rush rush rush. Kinda sucks. I totally agree that it should be gone and make it harder. For example..... leave the modifiers, but maybe make them randomly change mid strike to throw you off. There is so much you could do with the nightfall its crazy. Maybe bring back light switch during hive raids so we have to run from the pesky thrall. But the timer is a little too much to properly enjoy the strike .
-
1 ResponderKeep it as it is. It’s a challenge. Gg
-
-
If you can't complete normal nf that's user end error. Normal nf pretty easy unlike prestige mode. What you use for weapons/exotics and subclass matters
-
2 RespostasBut how else are they going to make it a "challenge" if they remove it? That would mean they would actually have to put some actually effort in creating it. Can't have none of that, knowing the entire game was majorly dumb down to make it easy for them.

2 RespostasWas thinking about loading to see how the new game is. Mostly want to check out Lucky Pants because that perk is maybe not the autoloader I asked for but is close enough. But the fact they continue to refuse to admit that yes the nightfall timer is a bad idea, no it is not just opposed by a vocal minority but rather only a vocal minority actually like having it, the fact that they continue to obstruct there being an end game for purely arbitrary reasons makes me not really want to give them my login as a "mission acomplished" banner. I'd rather today's player figures just remain stagnant so they shit them selves a little.
