it's disappointing how many missteps there are in this game. Because the missions are actually pretty good and I love the improvements to the map and public events. The weapons overall feel much weaker, increased cooldowns, and this infusion nonsense is really holding back the game.

Wow. Learn to grind....
-
I'm sure once the raid pops and the rest of the end game content comes out, yeah it'll be possible to get powerful again. But comparing early game D1 to early game D2, if anyone says guns aren't significantly weaker they're kidding themselves and blinded by Bungie's BS.
-
Not everyone has time to endlessly grind.
-
So should everyone should suffer quality of gameplay because of a few people who don't have time for an MMO? I feel your pain, I really do. I wish I had enough time to do Destony properly, and World of Warcrafy and many other games but my realmlife won't allow it. Still, I don't want those games to go auper-easy mode and suck the magoc out. Instead I play mobile games when I can. That's life :(
-
You're basing your point on that you know it's just a "few" people. I've seen many a people make that mistake. Let's look at the facts. Only about half of D1 players raided. Why? Time and complexity. Having a cornerstone feature, which raids are because that is how you actually beat the bosses, that only half of the players get to experience is abysmal. There has to be a middle ground. While a lot of changes revolved around things that some people complained about, infusion was never an issue that I'm aware of. It was done, mostly likely, to counter the increased number of activities. However that "counter balance" is tilted when you consider that there are 6 weapon types just in kinetic and energy. So you have a 1 in 6 that the engram may be the type you want. Rng dictates that one day you could get nothing but one type and another you get everything but one type. So if they want to add more longevity by restricting infusing they should group them instead. Either by class (kinetic/energy/power) or general type (rifles upgrade rifles, cannons/sidearm/msg and power remains as is. Heavy can remain the same given their "powerful" nature. You get some restriction which increases playability but doesn't leave you at the mercy of a math formula.
-
Raids have always been exclusive to the most dedicated players since the dawn of MMO's. Sure you don't "beat the boss" unless you do it, but that doesn't mean the game can't be fun. Raids, by their very nature, require lots of dedication because of the complexity requirements. It's just not compatible with the idea of letting every casual player do them without completely changing the system. If it's really a big deal to you, then you can wait for people to get max power and find a group to carry you through the raid IMO. If you don't like that system, why should the rest of us suffer B.S. pokemon go style "raids"?
-
This isn't an MMO, it's an action shooter. A Six man team isn't comparable to a 50+ raid of an MMO. Time is the biggest factor, along with people actually taking the time to teach new raiders. That's how I did WotM, one Sherpa and a team full of rookies. So no you don't need a team to carry you need 1 person who knows what to do or a rookie team that studied a play through. So no there isn't a need to dumb down difficulty. That's an issue that was complained about and fixed. Infusion wasn't complained about and made worse just to increase the grind

Call it what you want, but Destiny IS Massively Multiplayer & Online so it's an MMO and it borrows quite heavily from pre-existing archetypes of that genre. Sure, it's not strictly an MMORPG but that doesn't really matter much since it's the MMO part that defines scaling, leveling, etc. It's fine to want different features, but expecting them to happen is juat wishful thinking IMO.
-
No RPG is leveling, skills, scaling, crafting, etc. MMO is Massive Mulitplayer Online. You need massive numbers to be an MMO. 3 man fireteams and 6 man raids isn't massive, that's standard team sizes on any shooter. Only the public spaces have double digits and I've never seen more then 10-15 in one place even in D2. That is why Destiny is called an open world shooter. It merely has an open world for the limited number who can be together at once to have the feel of a larger strike force. So no, when it's rare for even 10 people to be in the same area you can't claim it's Massive Multiplayer. I wish we had it like that but we don't.
-
seems nitpicky at this point. agree to disagree?
-
You're free to stop when you want.
-
Well nevermind, if you're going to be a dick about it then you prove my point anyway.
-
Well nevermind, if you're going to be a dick about it then you prove my point anyway.
I dunno. Did you say acting? No you didn’t. While it’s be unreasonable for me to expect you to remember, you should of had the common sense to check if you were going to deny it. Sadly you keep on failing in this discussion. You should of left earlier and saved yourself the embarrassment. Tried to tell buddy.
-
If anything, I’m impressed by your dedication to bickering, but why are you not able to handle basic things like context or synonyms :/
-
I handle them fine but there is no contextual or synonym bs for you to hide behind. Your posts were direct and straightforward. You just bungled this exchange every step of the way. Normally people might give you points for persistence but at this point you reek of desperation to save face. That doesn’t impress me, just shows even more weakness. Why give up on easy prey?

Editado por MC 077 Lasombra: 9/16/2017 12:45:37 PMMy attitude doesn't change genre definitions or the pros and cons of D1 and D2 systems. Your inability to make your point does. If not giving you the easy out makes me the bad guy in this discussion then that's your problem. I didn't put you in that position, you did. By your own free will. So don't blame someone else when you fail. Learn from it. Or cry about it if you want. You're only setting yourself up for another fail if you don't learn to accept being wrong, however trivial the subject is. It's a mindset thing. Consider this a free lesson. Good luck Guardian.
-
Disagreeing about the minutia of the loose definition of genres, neither of us is "right". If you can't accept that then you're setting YOURSELF up for disappointment.
-
Like I said, feel free to stop whenever you want. Also I wouldn't say the massive part of MMO is minutiae, as it's the central pillar of the genre. Hence why it's the first word of it? Maybe? I mean just because you got it wrong doesn't mean I did. 🤠
-
And you re free to act like an adult at any time. And if MMO is a core tenant then that pretty much refutes your earlier points.
-
I don't need to coddle you like a child. You have parents for that. We were debating genre definitions, since you insisted Destiny is an MMO. So no I wasn't calling Destiny an MMO. I simply said you can't call any game that isn't "massive" in the player count an MMO. That's why they called it open shooter. Keep up with the conversation. If you can only handle one subject at a time just let me know.
-
Lol it’s not “coddling” someone when they ask you not behave like a child. Go pound sand and whine somewhere else, IDGAF
-
Who are you calling a kid? Who has done the name calling here buddy? All because you couldn't make your points and I didn't let you off the hook because of your inability to do so? How utterly pathetic.
-
Who has done the name calling here buddy?
That would be you “buddy” Projecting much?
-
Editado por MC 077 Lasombra: 9/26/2017 6:25:22 AMI don't "dick", too childish to own up to your own words?
Well nevermind, if you're going to be a dick about it then you prove my point anyway.
Children these days.
-
All right buddy, since you’re still on about this, I’ll break it down for you: If I say you’re acting like a dick, that’s me describing your behavior. If I say you ARE a dick, that’s name calling. Now, are you done acting like a dick?
