I am part of a small clan of friends and co-workers that play this game. One of my employees decided recently that he wanted to get in on the fun. So of course we took him under our wing and started his journey. A few of us have helped out other kinder-guardians along the way but this was different because we work with this guy. He's been a friend and valued employee for almost a decade now. So everyone knows that Xur sold the g-horn again recently. Our 2 week old guardian had 1 strange coin and after all the grinding that weekend he still only had 6 so no horn for him. Now we get to the good part. During our vanguard strike grinding he got a legendary helmet engram. At this point he was close to getting enough marks to buy a piece of legendary gear so we were excited for him. He needed it. Once we get to the tower he decodes the engram and says "it turned yellow, glasshouse I think it's called." Needless to say we were shocked. Fast forward to Monday 2 nights ago and we finally have him ready for a 28 poe. This guy has a blue scout rifle, murmur, and a sawtooth oscillator that dropped on a strike so we think it would be great for his 1st exotic to be a suros or mida. If you were thinking he got a g-horn then you guessed right. Absolutely unbelievable! We babysat him through a nightfall last night where he got an etheric light and a 32, and 34 poe as well. So now our friend is a 34 that has no clue and hasn't even raided yet. To be honest I'm not sure how to feel about this. But I know what we'll be doing this weekend. TL/DR: Our friend is a scrub. Look at his stats. Still a level 34 with a mf gjallarhorn. Crucible k/d 0.0. Not even an accidental kill. Edit: We took the new guy through his first crota run on the 3rd. He did ok for a deer in the headlights (50 kills, 4.17 k/d). Crota pulled his usual crap so he got to witness all of that. Unfortunately we couldn't get him to run the sword. He was terrified! lol! We're still waiting for a couple of friends to do the vog because he's just lost and we give him a hard enough time without some stranger yelling at his dumb ass.
