The community is only toxic because the developers lack communication and common sense.
They act like players with developer powers.
You can easily tell the game is being managed by developers who thumbs are absent when it comes to being players but heavy when it comes to handling changes and adjustments.
Simply clueless.
The game worked better when players were sent out to play test the game at the studio and provide feedback.
