Howdy there!
The #Help forums are not able to assist with appeals of restrictions or bans. However, there is a process in place for you to appeal your ban or restriction.
Please review the Contact Form: Appeal Ban or Restriction article found here.
[i]Please note that, as mentioned in the article, there is no guarantee for a response, nor is there a guarantee that your ban or restriction will be overturned.

look i got a restriction warning and i don't like it. been playin for 3 years haven't done anything and now getting banned for "lagging" is not a good reason. will the warning like go "wear off" in time?
-
No warnings do not go away. If you don't like the warning you will hate the restrictions. Connections are fluid and can change over time and you should be working on making sure your connection is upto par with stability and speed. Isp companies have had a huge increase in load since you started playing 3 years ago not all of them are able to keep up causing issues like this. Heed the warning and work on your network and ISP..
-
Just a question, I am trying to change my isp now but aside of that, if i get restricted it's not permanent right? Since i saw there is a ban and there is a restriction.
-
work on your network and ISP..
To work on your network is one thing, but to say that about the ISP is another, providers aren't random cabbages that you can just get anywhere, and to punish those who have no ability to influence their circumstances is a bit extreme without offering an alternative.

If the highway has a minimum speed and your car can't reach it...do they give you a new car or tell you to stay off the highway?
-
They have permits that allow you to go on the highway even still, but I see your point. To that end though it's still not ethical to sell something to someone and then tell them they can't use it because of something beyond their control. ISP's are limited, the amount of internet available by them is also something beyond user accessibility. By comparison, especially for people who might be located in rural geographic locations, cars would be much easier to obtain. If your answer to that is to read the EULA or ToS before buying, would be subjectively excessive unless at the checkout there is a warning about internet availability needed and running the risk of being banned from playing if the requirements aren't met in bold lettering.
-
to be fair, the requirements are not excessive. the game uses 1M up and down and it has to be stable. there are very few locations where this is not available.
-
That is true, but I have a wired connection that runs (min-max) 8-42dl/5/20up. Packet loss runs from 0-10% depending on weather as it's dish based, fiber is not available; 14 is the worst worst id seen it at but it wasn't long term and I stopped playing anyway, latency is also min 60-180ms with 280 being the worst, that also occured alongside the 14% packet loss. My partner games literally right next to me as we play together for almost all pve content but I was the only one who got the warning. This is partly why I'm confused, as well as the fact that I didn't have connectivity issues until BL dropped, and even then it was always Arugula, Guitar or sometimes Bird.
-
If you are in any pvp type mode with paler loss that high eventually you were bound to get a notice. I have seen players with as low as 5% get hit. Reports do play a factor as that is what normally causes your account to be reviewed. They use a 2 factor for restrictions and bans something has to flag you and then they review. In you case with limited options I would stay away from the competitive stuff when you have seeing high Packet Loss
-
The only other thing I could think of was a crucible player that I reported after they pulled my IP address and threatened to "come visit". Even then, they dossed me for a couple weeks before my ISP changed our IP.
-
Well i play rainbow 6 and apex eith same ping and didn't get "restriction warning"
-
And? Different games have different requirements. Instead of trying to find excuses just Troubleshoot your connection and if you can't fix it for whatever reason stay out of pvp and gambit. Really pretty simple
-
just should i contact them and let the know of my situation. Will this help in anyway? as i said i have been playing for 3 years and seeing this msg now is just i wasted all my time and money.
-
It will not help. You are not understanding that going X amount of time does not mean you will not have problems in the future as things can change. Parts wear out lines corrode companies over sell their capacity. It's like saying you have gone 5 years without a flat tire, and then you get one tomorrow. The tire doesn't care how long it held air before, it just doesn't now. Just need to accept the fact bungie's logs data shows you had an issue and need to fix it or face further consequences.
-
well this is extremely helpfull and i love that you care and help. thanks. can you just give me information on how long will it take to be "restricted"? since i want to farm bright dust with my characters and i don't know what to do. anyway to check my ping before matches or anything? pingign bungie servers or something like that?
-
To be real with you...it could be 1 match or 200 or more. It depends on your connection, being reported and Bungie having the data to suppport. Make sure you also check Packet loss to century link in Seattle WA USA as that might help a bit too. To be clear though any time you play pvp or gambit it will be a risk.
-
I just sent them some info. Hope they at least respond
-
the ENTIRE problem is i live in Iran. and you know it holds the record for worst internet connection in world. i have the fasted and most expensive ISP here and yet my ping won't go lower than 250-300 and i have a constant loss of 10-25%. I can't move out of country just for a game. i would if i could. this place is hell
-
Edited by toneDef Weary: 12/3/2020 12:32:09 AMOkay, this is your issue and it is a major one. That ping/latency is way too high to be playing this game and that packet loss is atrocious as well. You want to have 0% packet loss. You will definitely find yourself on the business end of a Restriction with a connection like that.
-
No it doesnt.
