Sorry but it's the SHOOTING MECHANICS that are the thing that takes no skill.
Other things such as movement, buildcrafting, speedrunning, etc all take a lot of skill- you dont see just anyone doing it.
You barely got through endgame content.

I got through literally everything except 1 nightfall rank, 1 raid, and 1 dungeon because I saw no value in them. Buildcrafting isn't a skill its basic knowledge, Speedrunning is a technique not a skill, and Movement doesn't require skill except in games like Titanfall 2 where there is a ton of movement options Destiny has run and jump. If we want to dive even more complicated Slideshotting and T-Bag Shot. Which also doesn't take much skill if any beyond being able to aim with is once again basic shooting mechanics.
-
I mean, no matter the game basically anyone can clear stuff- but not efficiently. Buildcrafting is NOT basic knowledge. Speedrunning is in fact a skill- or it at least groups many, many skills together. You obviously know nothing about movement. Movement also happens to include positioning. The movement skill ceiling is very tall. You have just admitted you know nothing.
-
First part finally we agree on one thing doesn't make it skillful either way. Literally anyone can make a build with basic knowledge. It is basic. Now making a great build requires more knowledge but not a bit of skill. Speedrunning itself is a category. Now will I say that there are button combinations and everything outside the game and knowledge of exploits that take time and skill to master? Yes. Speedrunning itself however isn't a skill. You literally just proved my point Destiny has a very basic movement standard. Positioning is just a basic principle of movement. I've admitted nothing beyond that we agree on one thing so far. You've proven absolutely nothing.

Anyone can make a decent build with decent knowledge. Then you need advanced knowledge to properly buildcraft. It is still a "skill" to buildcraft effectively. You have to know all the mods and how they work and synergise AT LEAST. Speedrunning just covers the multiple skills used in it. I'm too lazy to name them all. However two big ones are movement and game knowledge. Basically every game has a basic movement standard. And ones with high movement skill ceilings allow you to push it beyond, much like d2. Just pressing the jump, slide, etc buttons isnt using movement properly. Then you have positioning too, and only the top% of players can use it effectively. You need map knowledge and game knowledge at least.

Edited by SilverSols: 9/8/2020 2:09:21 AMSo everything in build crafting is knowledge just different levels yield different results thanks for confirming. Yes it's a category as stated it itself is not a skill. Everything in the final part is knowledge. The skill is in basic shooting mechnics this basic bits here are in ALL shooters. I suggest you look up Destiny 2 tourney rules so you can see how much you must remove to make Destiny 2 a true skill game. I've included the main ones in a picture here for you. It is a skill to put your knowledge into effect and to yield results from it. As I said, the skill is to put the knowledge into practical use. Denying this means NOTHING takes skill in any game- video or irl. The image attached is completely irrelevant. For one it is subjective what "takes skill"- but notice how most stuff are weapons/armour and basic mods?
-
That was an even older one. The restrictions have gotten more and more. As for subjective on taking skill that's just completely wrong. It doesn't take skill to learn something then do it. Mastering that skill however is a different story entirely. As stated so many times Destiny 2 takes none to bare minimum which I lean more towards bare minimum as you must know how to use a controller./keyboard & mouse. 14 mods/perks are banned including weapon archetypes in the newest version. Certain Class perks themselves are also banned. My point being at the end you have to remove a ton in destiny 2 to bring it to true skill alone. At the end of this like I said I gave you a chance and I'm tired now of going in circles. I'll point you to DSR Joker's take on the matter if you want to go on with this but we are just never going to come to an agreement. So beyond that I wish you luck in your future endeavors and hope you learn to provide points rather than attempt insults it makes your arguments so much weaker.

I never once said that d2 pvp was the pinnacle of skill. However the game does require skill. End of.
