I'm going to give an argument to remove sbmm, based on recent experience.
SBMM should be a good thing in the game, you improve with equal or better difficulty opponents, you learn to adapt to play styles, maps, weapons.
However the population has been diluted, especially around mid to lower top tier players and there's a reason for that. How many times have you matched up with folk with 10/20+ glory win streak emblems as if it's a badge of honour?
But....the players with them are not the players that achieved those streaks, they got carried, all those folk that got carried for luna, NF, Revoker, mountaintop ect...their ELO has been drastically boosted by the person that carried them, and now we've got a skill level pool that's overfilled with players clearly not at that level and it's ruining comp.
You've got unbalanced teams with maybe 3 genuinely good players or at leadt players that know how to play, with 3 more that are clueless, the ones that are rushing in, getting themselves wrecked over and over.
So while SBMM should be a good thing and no doubt for top tier players it's working, but for mid range folk that are trying to improve, it's currently broken because of all these idiots that got carries or recoveries.

so you want SBMM removed because of carries? if so, its a moot point. with enough time, it will fix itself. people with inflated stats, will find themselves against people with actual skill, and won't be able to compete.

That's the point, this players are currently diluting the skill poll atm. It's not all tiers, more midrange to lower top. You can have decent sweat matches which you'd expect of players the similar level, but atm you've then got matches where maybe 2/3 folk in matches aren't of that lvl and if they're on the same same team, it drags the match down. Personally I'd rather see ayabls matches through cbmm sorted first.

Do you really think that there are enough paid carries and recoveries that 2/3 of most teams are inflated stats?
-
with CBMM you will always have lopsided matched. the longer SBMM goes, the better the matches will be. this is all based on having the player base to support it. with SBMM, the player base will stick around longer, so in the end, i feel SBMM is the better choice. although there neither is the perfect setup.

i think this is close to what is happening, as my experience is almost identical

I’m not sure how wide spread it is, but I know one other thing that can play into SBMM looking f’d. It’s the little brother problem. By that I mean, a guy with 2.0kd let’s his little brother play, and his brother can barely trip into a 1-25 efficiency match. And you lol at the score and think “how the f did I get matched with this?”

That's why I hate when my brother plays mine.
