They were fine when they were called Masterwork Cores and only functioned for that purpose. Right now, with the huge amount of glimmer needed too, its absolutely useless to infuse anything until youre 750! So basically, you choose ONE end-game build and infuse it at 750. The rest stays at low power and becomes only relevant in PVP or strikes. So much about the variaty in this game. Personally, I think the system is absolute crap!!! Especially for the ones who dont play as much, or are new to the game.

  • That's not how yah do it. Explains why you're having an issue with cores

U can buy 2 cores a day every day at reset for 30 legendary shards from Spider. So right there that’s 14 a week just by logging in. Plus u can dismantle crap gear u get from gunsmith or random legendary world drops, and usually get anywhere from 2-5 cores a day from that. The gunsmith bounties give u a few, dismantling old shit in ur vault will give u a bunch assuming ur vault is full of crap, like most of ours is at this point in the game. Plus u get 7 cores a week from finishing ur clan xp ,etc etc etc ... Matterweave seem to drop more from higher level enemies , yellow bars and such also. I usually get 1-2 a day of those.. Plus don’t forget if u infuse identical gear it doesn’t cost cores only glimmer. And if u infuse exotics into legendary it costs no cores either , just glimmer .,, So the whole u can only infuse 1 set of gear to 750 crap is total BS.. Theres lots of ways to get them tbh. U don’t have to be a hardcore player, u just have to know where to look and what to do.. And glimmer u can buy from Spider also for mats anytime. I’m not defending them, im purely stating that for most of us they aren’t that big of an issue .

Also wont get 2 cores from spider if you dont have the shards to spare. I haven't played in quite awhile and am still struggling to stay above 100 shards to keep for infusion and spider material exchange etc but that's just me. Other then that bounties from sounder and gunsmith keep me fairly stocked up

  • Now imagine youre a guy who got the game when it was free (2 friends of mine are in this spot). Every legendary is important, because you build up to replace your blues. You have around 20-30 shards by now, because you rarely dismantle gear (see first point). You try to get to the end-game stuff, so you need the crapiest highest light gear on all the time. Exotics will have to be vaulted, because theyre too expensive to infuse. If you have a small clan (like we do), those 7 cores arent an option right now. So basically, for the average and casual gamer, you get a few cores a week by doing the bounties. Also, not everyone logs in everday like most addicted players on here. There are many more points, but this one shouldnt be overlooked from "us" hardcore players. Evertime, its the same argument from those who play 24/7. It really gets lame...

You’ve literally just said people that play less should be able to progress just as fast. In what other game can you do that? My friend and me both play ESO but he plays it a lot more than I do so he has more gear, more mats etc. Sometimes I don’t have the mats I need for things... Because I don’t play the game enough to get them. I don’t cry about it. As for new players, I moved from PS4 to PC just over 2 weeks ago. I started with literally nothing. I’m 740 power level, infusing every single time I get something better, I’ve masterworked 3 weapons and aim to do a fourth by the end of the week. I’ve also started bringing a second set of gear up to my current light level with perks for the next weapon I’m going to masterwork. Seriously, it’s not hard. Just play the game. If you can’t log in every day then you just have to accept that you’re not going to progress as fast or as easily as the people that do. That’s literally how every game works dude!

  • Hell no! I never said that or meant that. But keep on going, I'm done discussing with you core defenders. I'd rather discuss with a flat earther. ;) Btw, tell me one thing. Who would it hurt if cores are gone for infusion?

  • Maybe you seriously haven’t thought it through but cores or no cores you’re still only going to be using 1 loadout until you are max light, only then can you experiment.. cores are not the problem. You can be as sarcy as you like aswell but Bungie have said many times that they’re here to stay. In the ViDoc they also said they’re leaning more towards RPG and MMO than ever before, so in my opinion it’s only going to get worse. The grind for some cores is seriously nothing compared to a lot of MMO’s, and I’ll be honest here, whether you think it wouldn’t hurt to have them removed or not, some people like that. Just like getting a piece of gear to EPIC quality on ESO using farmed mats.. it does add value for some people. Different strokes for different folks dude

  • 1 load out until max light? O.o man idk I cant do that myself. My load changes from strikes to gambit and again to crucible patrol etc

  • I mean for the average more casual player. Sure I’ve got quite abit if stuff around my power level I can switch to. But, in my case at least, if I switch my shotgun build I go down from 743 to 739, not bad, but if a prime engram drops during that time it’s basically useless to me and waste.

Destiny 2 is a FPS MMO grinding game. If u don’t like to grind and do time consuming mundane activities for a while then D2 isn’t for u. It’s 100x’s easier of a grind then D1 was so I think it’s a pretty easy path to 750 at this point tbh. Drifter has bounties to get u to 640 almost immediately and the new Menagerie bounties will drop 690 gear immediately so ur point about blues and all that is moot.. It’s easy to level up , and so what if ur not wearing the perfect gear with the perfect perks and ur using guns that aren’t your favorite.. that’s part of the game , u keep leveling and then u get to a point where u infuse what u wanna wear and use and ur good. Is it time consuming in the beginning..? Yes , but it was for all of us too.. Ur friends are just gonna have to suck it up and grind that shit out like everyone else.. there are sooooo many high level powerful gear drops at this point in the game it’s insane to think even with bad rng, that it takes any time at all to level a character up.. cores or no cores, it’s a constant barrage of high level gear , just put the shit on and infuse later once ur 740-750

  • You just said it "just put the shit on" Thats what Destiny is until you hit max power. Not a good progression system IMO. But its pointless to discuss this on here anyways, so I wish you all the best with your shitty loadout until 750. Have fun :)

My loadout isn’t shitty, I have 200+ cores, I’m talking for the starting out player to just throw the shit on. If ur a daily veteran player cores should not be an issue.. And btw I’ll be 750 today when I get home from work

  • Aaaaaand, you just prove my point too! Because YOU, a veteran, who grinded to 750 in one week, doesnt have a problem with cores, noone should!? GG and good bye

  • I wasn’t saying that cores aren’t a problem for anyone, I was merely suggesting ways to obtain them as I have . I stockpile when I know a power increase is coming, as I’m sure most veterans do. But newer players may not be aware of how to obtain them, that’s why I compiled a list of ways to get them quickly no rmg necessary. But u failed to read all that obviously and just want to rant

  • Dude I started 2 weeks ago and they ain’t a problem trust me. 3 weapons masterworked. 740 power of all the gear I want with the perks I want. Don’t listen to these crybabies. Literally crying because they don’t progress as fast as the people that play everyday do... in what other game, especially MMO’s, does that happen?

  • Every core defender so far, did not have a single good point why they "are fine" Because of some new bounties? No. All you guys can post is "its fine" "I have enough of them" "the game is about grinding" "theyre not hard to get" But an actual good point why they should stay? Havent seen a single one...

  • there isn't a single good post as to why they should be removed either. for every complaint about cores, there is a solution. the issue is it's not the easy mode solution most players want. fact, they are not need to progress. fact, they are relatively easy to obtain. fact, you only need max light for end game, that is the gear you use cores on. fact, you don't need max light items equipped to get max light drops. only need to be on your character.

  •
there isn't a single good post as to why they should be removed either. for every complaint about cores, there is a solution.
This is absolutely wrong! There are tons of posts, and even articles on the net, why cores suck. And all of them explain it perfectly. The opposite of what you guys who defend them do. All your arguments are "I dont have an issue with them" and "they're easy to get" But it's a waste of time to try and convince you. Like trying to convince a anti vaxxer or a flat earther. It simply wont work. :P
