Would you recommend to someone who never really played halo?

I know you weren’t asking me, but 100% I would recommend them.

Uhh, that's hard to say, just because I know I have a strong bias with the Halo lore (spent many a day just reading through wiki pages). It seems well written so far, plenty of personality. If you like any of Nathan Fillion's characters (from Firefly, Destiny, Castle, etc) then you're more likely to enjoy it, as it's told from Buck's point of view (another Fillion character).
