I'm certainly not a kid and your argument is moot because this raid simply has no requirement atm for 300+ you can kill oryx in 3 with a full team of 290's it's not hard

But it [b]IS[/b] easier to run it with 300 light level player, considering they will do more dps and have more experience than the average 290 light level player. It is also reasonable to expect to play with people of your tier so everyone can have an equal contribution
