Cbmm killed crucible

It’s true, you’ll hear certain people try to come up with excuses as to why pvp is unbearable, they’re just looking for any reason to blame besides the real problem, cbmm is not ideal in 2022. Population is not healthy in pvp, the fact that even with crossplay there’s still not enough players to make clash permanent or even freelance because it’ll peel what few players away from other modes. Bungie consolidated the modes because nobody plays outside of 3 for a pinnacle. I could go on and on, this pve is amazing, pvp is bottom of the barrel Crossplay, turn it off and see how many matches you will find. I can turn it off in cod and still get a lobby faster than this game, so the illusion that this is the a thriving population is all delusional. Games periodically switch to cbmm when population is scarce, every healthy game has sbmm.

  • Hilarious 🤡. SBMM is a know game killer. As where the COD’s of the world can afford to -blam!- on its dedicated fan base to cater to trash casuals, Destiny can not. Not enough garbage that would actually see some benefit from SBMM to go around. Comp has SBMM, funny that playlist has been dead for a along time.

      • 411k pvp players yesterday. Back when sbmm was in the game it was 150k or less. Sbmm Destroys the pvp population. Bungie knows pvp mains will stop buying DLCs and seasons if they add more sbmm. Bad pvp players won't stop buying DLCs and Seasons if sbmm isn't added. The game already has 2 sbmm. You kids who cry for sbmm just refuse to play them.

          CBBM? You mean 50% of lobbies where you get matched with people from 4 different continents? :D There is not even CBMM. It is absolute random and the same with how the game splits the teams (and no, SBMM and fair team splits are not the same). No matter if you are good in pvp or not, the actual state is bad for everyone and has nothing to do with SBMM. It goes much deeper. Crossplay shouldn't be shut down it should be fixed. Destiny is the only shooter I know where crossplay connection is that bad. To be fair, the population isn't bad for destiny conditions BUT it could be better. We have a very bad meta atm and the performance is getting worse and worse. Even in PvE you see performance issues like porting enemies or enemies who get without reason their healthbar back. Then we don't get enough pvp content. Some new maps would be insane and not one oversized map in nearly 3 years. Then they kill even IB population with an so called "popular" mode from d1. You know how "popular" rift was back in d1? Here one Headline article from Polygon when it came out: "Destiny: The Taken King's new Rift mode is a shot in the arm for the Crucible". All these things (and even more) together make the actual experience so bad. "every healthy game has SBMM"? The most shooter with SBMM don't make that for fair lobbies above all those ones who implement that in casual playlists while they have modes like ranking etc. . Thats why the most SBMM Systems are very manipulatable. They use SBMM to bind more bad player longer at the game, even if that means to harm the experience of even average player. It's all about money and not fair lobbies. CoD etc. are very good examples how bad and manipulable sbmm in casual playlists is. On the other hand we have no reason to play comp. There would be a good ranking system with good rewards a great thing. But atm we only have casual playlists and trials. In trials would sbmm kill the whole meaning behind this mode. They already do that with too much experiments in trials. The first week after the revamp was awesome.. so many could go flawless. Even our 0,7 K/Ds who play mostly PvE had fun back then.

            Yea, Bungie has been made to look like fools and this is why you should not always listen to the community, they think they know best but sometimes they absolutely do not and its short term frustration that drives them away from logical thought. What do you think is going to be the outcome when the only people consulted on such a change are at the pinnacle of the skill pyramid and have for months been complaining about sweaty games every single time they play, of course they are going to want to have cbmm, they have nothing on the line, have already mastered the craft and can feed their ego with the multikills on the person who installed the game last-night trying to grind bounties. Long term data had shown that there was zero overall difference to the population of the crucible given its track record of previous years and what events were active at the time. I'm sure have said that they will be changing back to SBMM in the future due to this as they have come to their senses, they have just no date yet.

          • The quality of the product needs to improve. Bad networking with glitchy game play. Too many lopsided losses and wins. You can’t justify playing comp for example if the system won’t give you a fairly balanced lobby as a solo. A couple seasons ago I lost 20 games straight due to matchmaking falling from fabled 2 all the way to the floor. In each game the elos were completely unbalanced. That right there is Bungie deciding who wins & loses and it takes away any incentive to keep playing. After that I’ve really cut back and hardly play crucible. Not worth it.

          • I’ll tell you a little secret.. I play d2 pvp 6v6 constantly and when am sober am pretty good and get a lot of kills but when am drunk am still getting kills but also many deaths as I attack groups of players thinking am invincible 🤯💩🤣 anyhow my stats would put me with not so skilled players but I would be a lot better than them.             Sure like, low population has nothing to do with zero content added to pvp, no loot incentive, horrible meta yet again, peer to peer lag being awful in 2022 when every other game has dedicated servers, too much time to address balance issues, lobby balancing causing many lopsided games, etc. It must just be the matchmaking that tries to give you a good connection. Yep.

              • - No form of quality lobby balancing whatsoever - A continual trash meta with broken Seasonal mods that Bungie refuses to address, Hunters are clearly still the overwhelmingly dominant PvP class by far and Bungie does little/nothing about it, and a stale gun meta of HC/Shotgun/Sniper that has plagued Destiny for almost 8 years straight. - Continually shifting/moving target design priorities with PvP: "we want more gunplay" yet ability spam is rampant, or "Twilight Garrison is more of the Warlock's class identity, not the Titan's". - Ancient early 2000s-era P2P connection system leading to laggy players, shots not registering, and infuriating melee/gun trade battles that you should've won and not traded. - Adding only one new PvP map after 900+ days, and it's broadly disliked - Neglected/dead game modes like Competitive and Iron Banner have no loot incentive to play and are ruined by Bungie meddling with IB and turning it into Rift - PvP is the source of most, if not almost every nerf in this game, and these nerfs almost always cross over into PvE, hurting that experience. - No new game modes Gee, it's no wonder why PvP is dying, if not on life support, if not actively being murdered by Bungie.

                • All I want is for catalysts that require pvp to have an alternative in pve. Nothing more. Instead of killing 100 guardians in pvp, give me the option to kill 5 000, or 10 000, or 100 000 enemies in pve. I care not. All I want is not to be forced to play pvp without sbmm, which I don't enjoy one bit. I did the catalyst for Ticcu a month ago. I entered Crucible for the 1st time then and my 1st match was against two guys with over a million kills in Crucible. I remember that well. If that is not insanity by definition, I really don't know what is. You can all guess how that went. Here I am, not knowing the maps or how to even position properly, pretty much anything, playing against pros basically. Hilarious stuff.

                  Only because pvp is lacking in players doesnt mean the pve side is lacking on players aswell. Destiny remains constantly on steams top ten ganes played, safe to assume most of us are in pve. You used cod as an example right? Well cod is mainly a pvp game. Try looking for a lobby in spec ops or zombies. Will you find a match, most likely because cod no matter what game will always have players, except maybe ganes from 2 generations ago

                      • Player numbers have been a lie in D2 for a while people come for new dlc then Leave after Bungie does not I repeat does not care about the community it. Bungie does enough to keep us buying and paying for a busted game and busted events dlc ect ect the list goes on the fact destiny 1 is still head & shoulders above D2 is a joke considering how much Bungie likes to “innovate” Bungie get mess up they do a charity stream Bungie get caught lying poof magic a charity stream happens Bungie manipulate there audience poof magic charity stream happens you can’t buy good press but Bungie certainly try earns billions of destiny but it runs like a car up on bricks I Liverpool

                        • I'm consistently getting thrown in games with people from the US, middle east and Australia in the same freelance lobby. Are you sure its CBMM??? I'm convinced their MM algorithm is any 12 players = match.

                          • I’ve played numerous shooter games and the Destiny population makes up some of the worst gamers I’ve ever seen. I’ll literally spectate my team in Rift and watch them not even know there’s a sprint button in the game. Some of ya’ll are the issue, there’s simply nothing Bungie can do when you’re that bad. Absolute A.I.
