game crashes whenever I do anything
Hi, I'm a returning player who hasn't played since the 2020 dawning. whenever I try and do any activity or go to a social space, my screen goes all black and stays like that for about 30 seconds, in which I can't do anything from opening my inventory to opining the steam menu. after this, my game completely crashes with no error code or error message from steam. If someone knows how to fix this I would be very thankful.

1 ReplyIt's an issue with an Nvidia setting. (I have a 3080 and was ready to set my computer on fire trying to figure out what was triggering the crashes) Open Nvidia control panel. Click on manage 3d settings near the top of the left hand menu options. Click program settings tab and search for destiny2.exe. Scroll down the list until you find shader cache and turn it off. Launch destiny again and it should be fine after this. Sometimes it will try to launch and it will be on a frozen black screen with no animation but background music but if you end task and launch again, it usually starts with no issue.

1 ReplyExact same issue here. Please let me know if you find a solution. The game worked Saturday evening but is problematic only on this game since then. Other games work flawlessly.
