It's an issue with an Nvidia setting. (I have a 3080 and was ready to set my computer on fire trying to figure out what was triggering the crashes) Open Nvidia control panel. Click on manage 3d settings near the top of the left hand menu options. Click program settings tab and search for destiny2.exe. Scroll down the list until you find shader cache and turn it off. Launch destiny again and it should be fine after this. Sometimes it will try to launch and it will be on a frozen black screen with no animation but background music but if you end task and launch again, it usually starts with no issue.

This worked for me, atleast i think it did, running the game will uodate if any issue
