The amount they recycle enemies is egregious though, and this issue is not talked about nearly enough. This is a AAA franchise that costs 100’s of dollars just for basic features, Yet they can’t be bothered to ever make new/unique enemy models, despite being in business and selling pseudo-content at full price for years. They recycle the exact same enemies, mechanics and locations 1000’s of times, over and over, and then they have the nerve to nickel and dime customers, as if the content they make is extraordinary and out of this world. It is literally the same, over and over, copy/pasting everything, even weapons, armor, ships, ghost shells, and sparrows. They have not made a single original thing in Destiny 2. The game is a half-assed Minimum Viable Product. It is a mini-store masquerading as a game. Nothing more.

I swear some of the ship shapes just come from them looking at random things on their desks and going... "oh, that pen could be a ship, and hey! that paperclip could totally work".

  • So what, they're supposed to have a new alien race come out of the woodwork every time a DLC comes out?

To have a build-your-own section, same as fortnite fans do for free, and then dump the same aliens in it? Need I remind you that even locations like Mars and Mercury are re-skinned (which is true for the former even in D1)?

  • That would convolute the lore so badly. I'd rather build on the races that already exist. And who cares if we play on the same locations? Unless there's a huge expansion that causes us to transfer to a new solar system, I'm fine with have old destinations with new areas inside them.

  • Every game recycles enemies. But atleast Bungie designs each enemy with distinct designs that require different tactics. Unlike some games........... Anthem - Every enemy is basically an anti-air Division - every enemy hides behind cover Once a raid comes out, those enemies you considered as basic become the biggest threats. Ex. Minotaurs in VOG, Boomers in Crota, Psions in Leviathan.

  • Different tactics? No matter the race they're just cannon fodder. Making different races weak to damage types would be a very simple way of actually doing this.

  • your problem lies right there with "Once a raid comes out, those enemies you considered as basic become the biggest threats." All they do enlarge an enemy and increase its HP then?

  • He means that they are more dangerous and cause more problems than on let’s say patrol. Minotaurs were annoying in VOG because they can kill you quite quickly
