Oh and it works for fusion rifles too. Here is another post showing the same for fusions. In the time I've spent (mostly) lurking here, I've seen a lot of arguments over whether fusion rifles do crit damage or not. So I decided to test it myself, using a level 10 SK5 TYPE-NULL , and a bunch of level 30 Hive on the moon. At first I was having trouble distinguishing whether some of the damage numbers were getting combined, like what sometimes happens when getting headshots with a shotgun. While going over the recording, though, I found one clean salvo that landed all seven bolts on an acolyte, ending in a 2x damage headshot. All the standard, red HP bar hive took the same amount of body and crit damage. From what I can tell, majors and ultras don't take crit damage from fusion rifles, but I did confirm that they don't get their usual damage reduction, either. The hallowed knights guarding the summoning pits were taking 82 per bolt, same as the acolyte in the screenshot. tl;dr Things with red health bars take 2x precision damage from fusion rifles. Edit: I stand corrected. As explained in the comments, the bonus damage I found is not technically from precision damage, only a side effect of most enemies having a lower defense value for their head. In my defense, I did my research at 3 in the morning. NEW tl;dr Fusion Rifles CANNOT do precision damage, but most enemies with red health bars still take double damage from headshots.

Go test it on red health enemies. Go to roc strikes you are mistaken. There isn't a yellow precision damage number BUT the damage is double.

Edited by Driveby40: 5/7/2015 3:21:45 AMWorks great on knights. Try the following and let me know if I'm wrong. Go to ROC playlist. shoot a red health knight in the chest or foot, with golden gun. Please report results: Shoot a red health knight in the head, with golden gun: Please report results:

Well you're right. I just went into level 24 "fist of crota." On red bar knights and acolytes it does 2xxx for a body shot, 5xxx for a headshot. On the yellow bar Sardon boss it was the same 28xx or so for body or head. I guess not seeing the yellow crit is what throws everyone off... Thank you.

No problem, I recently found out too using the Arachnid helmet haha because it zoomed I saw the damage difference. It def makes a huge difference though.
